MALE MODEL HUMPDAY: Show (Us Your) Packages

Edited by

Each Fashion Week, model agencies compile their top boys and girls into a nifty little package to send out to casting directors, who then decide which kids make it down which runway. To celebrate the start of New York Fashion Week, Male Model Humpday brings you the best — read: the most shirtless — the Big Apple has to offer in the way of living man-hangers for the fall 2012 season.

MALE MODEL HUMPDAY: Shake It Like a Polaroid Picture

Edited by

As everyone is well aware, I’m sure, it’s super hard being a male model. Every now and then they have to update their books or put to rest any fears they might have started eating or stopped working out and they have to drag themselves into their mother agency where their agent or an in-house photographer takes Polaroids of them in their underwear. Arduous. So this Male Model Humpday, we’re tipping our hats to their sacrifice while taking a tip from one Mr. André 3000. Get ready to start shaking, kids.

How About Some Rainbow Hair To Go With That Versace?

Edited by

Versace has been gaining momentum these past few months after first announcing a collaboration with H&M, and it doesn’t show signs of stopping. For the February 2012 issue of Vogue Nippon, models Lindsay Ellingson, Simon Nessman and Vika Falileeva are decked-out in the brand from head-to-toe with colorful hair to match by Oribe. Though not reaching the racy heights of our favorite vintage Versace ads, photographer Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele did a fine job with Keeping the Faith and giving us the attitude we can always expect from stepping into a full-on look from Donatella. Gallery after the jump.

Male Model Humpday Presents: The Top 10 Male Models of the Year

Edited by

Whereas the girls may earn the big bucks, these ten male models continue to work relatively hard for the money. Their faces and bodies have been everywhere and on everything/one this year, now here they are in handy enumerated order based on a complex mathematical permutation taking into account a host of factors. Either that or I just guessed. Whichever floats your boat. Happy Humpday!

MALE MODEL HUMPDAY: Jeffrey Fashion Cares

Edited by

Jeffrey Fashion Cares is a good cause: over the past 8 years they’ve raised $4 million dollars for LGBT and LGBT youth charities such as Lambda Legal, The Hetrick-Martin Institute and  Gay Men’s Health Crisis. And each year they hold a fashion show that addresses my favorite cause: shirtless male models. This year’s event, held at the Intrepid Aircraft Carrier, brought out such gorgeous eye candy as Simon Nessman, Evandro Soldati, Arthur Sales, David Agbodji, Francisco Lachowski, River Viiperi, Cole Mohr and Parker Hurley and helped to sell a record-breaking number of tickets. Ah, the audacity of hope.

Between the Spreads: Settling the Rihanna-Ciara Twitter War

Edited by

The Twitterverse was all…a-twitter this weekend over the 5-minute war launched between two titanesses of R&B, Ciara and Rihanna. The fur went flying after Ciara paid a visit with Joan Rivers on E!’Fashion Police and mentioned a recent unpleasant encounter she had with RiRi. Then Rihanna set out to prove how unpleasant she can really be, in 140 characters or less.

Male Model Humpday: Jon K All Day

Edited by

Jon Kortajarena possesses the type of beauty that comes along but once in a queer moon. Brooding, quirky, quixotic but distinctively male. With that heavy brow, those angular cheekbones, that pompadour puff of hair, those pouty lips and lithe frame iit’s no wonder Tom Ford cast him as the intriguing drifter that entrances Colin Firth in A Single Man; or that he later cast him as the impeccable face of his eponymous menswear and eyewear lines. And it’s no wonder that he has been my favorite male model for the past two years (with an occasional dalliance with Simon Nessman). Beauty, thy first name is Jon and thy last name is, well… unpronounceable. Hint: (Kor-ta-ha-ray-na)
