Urban Outfitters refuses to be outshined by Target, Barney’s, Walmart or Opening Ceremony!!! Which means some pretty cool new designer collections this spring. Among them GUAM from jewelry designer Brian Crumley, Dark Matter by Knox bags, and a nifty range of hats by Eugenia Kim.

But there’s one collection that has us all hot and bothered. A collaboration for Sonic Youth front woman Kim Gordan, Jeffrey Monteiro and Melinda Wansbrough. You probably remember the jacket the trio designed back in September which was highly covetable (and pictured above). The collaboration with Urban is set to hit shelves in April.

Can’t wait till then?

Well coming this month there will be arrivals from Cool Casual. What’s Cool Casual? The name of the collection the betties at Slow and Steady Win the Race created for the retailer. Expect eight pieces for $88 bucks and one wicked leather jacket hitting the shelves for $188.

Recession be damned, THOSE ARE SOME WICKED PRICES!!!

The new trend to watch in the spring is the growing amount of sweatshirt material high-fashion pieces hitting stores. So basically, you can look like a model when you hit the gym. As if I need more distractions while attempting to pump out super sets on weekdays. WWD featured a couple of the coolest pieces to watch for from Alternative Orange, Alice McCall, Slow and Steady Wins the Race, WKND by Cheap Monday, Jeremy Scott for Originals by Original, and True Religion.

(DISCLAIMER: Daniel Saynt doesn’t actually “pump out super sets on weekdays”. That would require him to get his ass of his computer, which rarely happens since he’s addicted to fashionindie.com and Google searching his own name.)
