Last night, Diesel held an exclusive launch event for their Spring 2011 sneaker collaboration with Adidas at their Lexington Flagship store in NYC. We got a first look at five classic Adidas styles redesigned by Diesel for a limited edition capsule collection. While browsing all of the fab merchandise, we sipped on blue margaritas and Radeberger Pilsner and had our ears blasted with tunes by DJ Blaqstar.

These were my favorites sneakers. I love the different studs.

Lester noticed this interesting denim jumpsuit. Would you wear it?

Damn! What will sneaker culture vultures think of next?

There’s a jewelers in England, Zelley, that are marketing gold / silver, even platinum tipped shoe laces!!! Don’t know about you but most of my sneaker’s laces are tucked in to the sneakers so these would be no good for me but who’s going to pay between 60-120 pounds for a pair of laces? Jay Z?

I wonder, once the laces get dirty and you wanna put them in the washing machine, would the tips get ruined- or worse, fall off? And are they just for thin laces, not fat laces? Then again, when would one be tying up in a bow a pair of fatties anyway? Jus’ sayin’!

The folks at Keds must be pretty busy lately. What to Wear When Dating a Twihard?

Everyone has a fetish. With the new release of Eclipse, the Twilight fetish is taking over. Everything vampire themed is suddenly very popular. If you go on a date with a Twilight lover, known as a “Twihard,” choosing an outfit might be difficult. Lucky for you, I’m here to help.

First and foremost, vampires are very classic dressers. This means that your Twihard most likely won’t appreciate the newest Hervé Léger dress. He’s probably going to want you to dress like a character in the movie to make his fantasy become a reality.

The Pants

To impress your Twihard, I recommend wearing jeans. They’re simple and safe. Not only are they comfortable, but everyone wears jeans. Even Bella. My favorite brand of jeans is J Brand. Their jeans are flattering and are pretty reasonably priced.

The Top

A tank-top works well with jeans and is sure to be appreciated by your Twihard. This Alexander Wang tank top is my newest favorite. It’s plain, but is accentuated with leather. It isn’t something that Bella would wear, but it’s a little more exciting. In my opinion, leather is uber sexy. Besides, who doesn’t love a little leather every so often?

The Shoes

If you want to really channel Bella, leave your heels at home and buy a pair of sneakers. I like this pair by Alice + Olivia. Not only are they sparkly so you don’t feel like a complete fashion dud, but they’re also cheap! How can you beat that?

So, now that you know what to wear to impress your Twihard, get out there and go shopping. The worst thing that can happen will be he’ll turn out to be a complete freak. But at least you’ll have a few new items to spice up your wardrobe!

Recycling Your Old Converse

Most of you (and by that I include myself into this kind of thinking) say to yourself that wearing out your trusted pair of Converse sneakers will surely diminish their (market) value. Here’s the Free People to prove us reverse economy is a reality.

Their recently issued Converse look really, really worn out. The Free People say that the sneakers have been hand ripped and washed to shred them as vintage-y as possible. Now if you ask me, I think we can find far better ways to spend $128 than this, not to mention that you old, torn Converse have a sentimental value, way more important than a hundred bucks a Converse-pair can bring. Fashionista called the first ones “a high-healed sneaker, which is a little like slapping a heal onto an Ugg and calling it evening wear.” This I must agree with. Horrid and unneeded, it’s not like these make proper attire for a party, and this defeats the point of a sneaker for comfort since there is a heal.

The second ones retail for $125 and are flower covered sneakers from Nike. What would you even wear these with? Jeans and a t-shirt? Weigh in indies, either or neither?
