Work was not easy on Friday after we all partied the night away at the Soho Grand Hotel the night before. If you weren’t aware, Fashion Indie co hosts a party every Thursday night at the hotel that’s organized by Niko Liakaris. We’re also lucky enough to team up with DJ Lindsay Luv, Jon Daly, Gabi Richmond and Against Nature as well.

This week we had a few special guests from CFE (Centre for Fashion Enterprise) and guest DJ Allan Bendy, along with Kate Lanphear and some friends from NYLON magazine all in attendance. Belvedere was kind enough to provide the party with way more than enough vodka, and like all of Niko’s parties, we didn’t let any of that go to waste.

Fashion’s Night Out was no match for the usual Thursday night routine that has been picking up steam week after week. Thursdays at the Soho Grand Hotel hosted by Niko Liakaris, Jon Daly, Gabi Richmond, and yours truly Fashion Indie welcomed an even bigger crowd than normal this week! However, this week was a cause to celebrate, as it was the after party for the opening of a brand new boutique Against Nature. Keep your eye out for this week’s flyer in the next couple days, it will definitely be a great way to end your Fashion Week.

The warm months may have just ended, but our preppier indies are going to anticipate its return with Gilded Age’s Spring 2010 collection. With a casual, springtime collegiate vibe, many of Gilded Age’s pieces are very dress down to dress up type pieces. Wrinkly plaids were paired with suits while ties were worn loosened with button ups and hoodies to make for several comfortable, weekend businessman looks. Although this type of styling is nothing new to the fashion world, Gilded Age’s quality is unmatchable and can be comfortably, as well as fashionably, worn with just about any other piece in the collection.

Soho Grand’s outdoor lounge was the perfect venue for Gilded Age’s Spring 2010 show, allowing natural evening light to set the mood for men atop grass covered picnic tables. Complete with watermelons and lounge chairs galore, I might start missing summer more that you think!

Thursday night at SoHo Grand Corey and I had the pleasure of meeting one of the designers from WUYORK, a completely fabulous line of bow ties out of New York.  These intricate designs can be worn by men and women, and are not just for the neck! We’ll be learning more about them very soon, but for now check out their site and see the S/S ‘09 Lookbook on Cult

After a long weekend of vodka infused fun, I finally have a second to relax and recap what happened in my head. If you don’t know by now, Fashion Indie has taken a fondness to a certain Thursday night party that is shaping up to be one of the trendiest parties in this city. Thursdays @ Soho Grand is a new party hosted by Niko Liakaris, Jon Daly, Brandon Bogard, and Gabi Richmond at (duh!) the Soho Grand Hotel every (duh! again) Thursday.

This week featured some amazing photography from the super talented (and newly aquianted) Katya Moorman of Style Defined. There were some very fashionable folks in the crowd too, just check the gallery! Want to join the party? It’s beautiful outside and we have no plans but to enjoy the weekend…and maybe hit up the Soho Grand BBQ! What’s everyone else doing???

Fashion Indie hit the streets last night to get our weekend started off right! The night started at the Soho Grand hotel for the new Thursdays at the Soho Grand party hosted by our wonderful friend Niko! Lindsay Luv was on the ones and twos, and the booze was graciously flowing like always. The crowd was full of the trendiest fashion people in town, and representatives of some of NYC’s top boutiques were in attendance.

Rebecca was kind enough to loan me one of her new jewellery pieces that I was getting compliments on all night! Look how good it looks next to the bottle of vodka we were drinking too!

The party pressed on to a new location, Marquee Club, for more free drinks and a little VIP status. The crowd was amazing, as was the DJ. We met a ton of new friends, and grabbed some great snapshots of some down right trendy folks!

Have your Thursdays become boring and repetitive? Well there’s a new party in town people. Thursdays at Soho Grand kicks off this Thursday, and Fashion Indie will be there documenting the entire thing! Did I mention my new friend Lindsay Luv is going to spinning along with Jamie Biden (If you haven’t checked out Lindsay’s new mixtape either get on that shit now!). It’s going to be an amazing party, so put together your hottest outfits and come hang!

Last night, the fashion people gathered at SoHo Grand to preview the new collection by Rad Hourani. Hourani told Style.com that this unisex line isn’t necessarily a diffusion line (priced from $100-400), but that “this is just more relaxed and easier to wear in cotton and jerseys.”  The line will be available in November online and in stores, perfect timing for these pieces, which include a lot of jackets, vests, super skinny jeans, t shirts, and perfectly draped shorts.  

Judging from the runway and all of the fashionable people there, must-haves for fall:

-guys in heels

-platforms

-destroyed tees

-partially shaved heads (for guys and girls)

-black, black, black

We had the pleasure of seeing the man himself, who was looking fabulous as to be expected.  Other sightings, Kelly Cutrone (who told us that she works out in her cowboy boots), Kate Lanphear, Malcom Harris.
