LOOKBOOKS editor-in-chief Cator Sparks came across these incredible images of our favorite UK designers, and we simply had to share the love. See it all after the jump.

From The Style Examiner:

London-based graphic designers Johnson Banks have worked with fashion photographer Sølve Sundsbø to produce a range of 10 stamps that portray 60 years of British fashion.

Live models (as opposed to static fashion mannequins) were used to embody the silhouettes of the various fashion eras and fit perfectly into the surviving existing garments. Following the shoot, the features of the models and background were erased from the images in order to focus the viewer’s gaze upon each of the British fashion designs.

The stamps feature the work produced by fashion designers in the 1940s (Hardy Amies), 1950s (Norman Hartnell), 1960s (from the boutique Granny Takes a Trip and designers Ossie Clark and Tommy Nutter), 1970s (Jean Muir), 1980s (Zandra Rhodes), 1990s (Vivienne Westwood) and the first decade of the twenty-first century (Alexander McQueen and Paul Smith).

Tuesday night at the Park Avenue Armory was a site for sore Fashion Week eyes as instillation-goers looked up into 25-foot tall screens for Sølve Sundsbo‘s “The Ever Changing Face of Beauty,” made possible by W Magazine and P&G Prestige. A-listers in attendance used some of P&G Prestige’s renowned brands to create their looks for the evening, and we have their beauty secrets for you right here.

Cate’s natural beauty glowed thanks to her religious use of SK-II products including Facial Treatment Essence and Facial Treatment Masks. Even skin tone is essential when wearing a red lip like Cate. To create a crystal clear complexion, include SK-II Cellumination Essence in your regimen.

The new face for Dolce & Gabbana, Adam Senn wore The One Sport fragrance for men to compliment his Dolce & Gabbana suit. The new fragrance will be launching soon, exclusively at Macy's.

W Magazine Celebrates Sølve Sundsbo’s “Ever Changing Face of Beauty”

Walking into the Park Ave Armory last night, one couldn’t help but notice the two 25-foot tall screens, one projecting a male and the other a female, perpetually walking in silhouette. The image alone was striking but guests of W Magazine and acclaimed photographer Sølve Sundsbo hadn’t seen anything yet. The unknown male and female were revealed to be none other than Calvin Klein darlings David Agbodji and Lara Stone, who through the course of Sundsbo’s “Ever Changing Face of Beauty” blurred the lines of race, gender, culture and even species through a series of digital morphs. Lara’s and David’s body parts were mixed and matched while fashion by stylist Marie Chaix beautifully augmented the surrealistic vibe of the piece. The result was a visually-stunning exploration of the many facets — and faces — of beauty and a true highlight of an otherwise lackluster Fashion Week. - Oh, Rihanna. Following a legal flip of the weave by David LaChapelle over copying his photographs for her “S&M” video, the pop tart looks to have turned her pilfering eye on the work of Sølve Sundsbø with her latest clip, “You Da One.” [Fashionista]

- Mark Fisher, who produces the controversial shoes Derek Lam has accused Ivanka Trump of “blatantly” copying from him, “strongly denies Lam’s claims.” Fisher argues that Lam’s design “has been used by numerous manufacturers for many decades” and adds for good measure, ”There is nothing iconic about the appearance of the Lam sandal.” Calling a man’s wedge sandal not iconic? - Oooh-la-la…oh, no. No. French health authorities are recommending that 30,000 women who received potentially defective breast implants from a French company have them removed as a preventative measure. [NYT]

- Brittany Murphy‘s mother is claiming her daughter and son-in-law Simon Monjack were killed by toxic mold found in their Hollywood home. The mold apparently caused the pneumonia that killed both Murphy and Monjack and now Momma Murphy is taking legal action against her lawyers for mishandling her case against the construction company back in January. The McQueen Met Catalog Is a Work of Art

The catalog for The Met‘s Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty is appropriately enough, as gorgeous as the exhibit, or so I’m told. The 250-page catalog has a holographic cover of a “gleaming skull,” quotes from the designer (such as “People find my things sometimes aggressive. But I don’t see it as aggressive. I see it as romantic, dealing with a dark side of personality.”), an introduction by Susannah Frankel — fashion editor of The Independent, a Tim Blanks interview with McQueen successor Sarah Burton and photos by Sølve Sundsbø, 20 more of which have just been released for mass gagging.So what are you waiting for, start gagging!

I Just Died: The McQueen at the Met Edition

Most of us will have to wait for Alexander McQueen‘s retrospective, “Savage Beauty” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute to open on May 4th (my invite to the Met Gala must have gotten lost in the mail…ahem), but the fashion gods, i.e. Anna Wintour, have blessed us with a sneek peak. The Vogue editrix hosted a preview event at the Ritz in London yesterday morning that was attended by, among others, Stella McCartney and Sarah Burton.

The pieces were photographed for the exhibit catalogue by Sølve Sundsbø using live models who were digitally altered to look like mannequins, thus giving the clothing movement. It looks absolutely incredible and I can’t wait to basically live in the Met for the entire month of May.

I love this spread shot by Solve Sundsbo for Vogue Italia even though Iris Strubegger looks super creepy as a wax statue. Regardless, makeup artist Maria Olsson did a phenomenal job making Strubegger’s flesh look man-made. All of the dresses look fantastic on her, but I especially love this backless number.

Scarlett Johansson is the perfect canvas for this shade of D&G lipstick. The bombshell looks amazing as a Monroe-esque pin-up girl with her fair skin and white-blond hair. Red lipstick AND fingernails have always been a little much for me, but this ad makes me want to give the look a second chance.

The colors of the garments are so phenomenal, I actually don’t feel as cold as I did five minutes ago. Model Freja Beha knows how to make sweaty look sexy. Maybe I should take some notes for summer’s 95 degree subway rides.

This past Sunday, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes hit the shelves in The New York Times Style Holiday 2008 issue. Shot by photographer Solve Sundsbo, the black and white spread looks like an old world Hollywood movie…probably one involving a sappy, infidelity filled love story. Visionaire is a “multi-format album of fashion and art” published 3 times a year in limited numbers. Each issue has a different theme and format, and the lastest issue, n.º 55, made in collaboration with House of Krug (the creators of Cuvèe champagne) is entitled “Surprise”, because this issue is devoted to pop-ups. Visionaire produced this issue with intricate pop-ups by a selection of contemporary artists and designers like Sophie Calle, Andreas Gursky, Cai Guo-Qiang, Steven Klein, Yayoi Kusama, Alasdair McLellan, Steven Meisel, Guido Mocafico, Nicola Formichetti/Gareth Pugh, Sølve Sundsbø, and Mario Testino.

The pop-ups come encased in a dark purple cloth-covered case with a magnetized closure and engraved metal plaque. Visionaire N° 55 is printed in a limited edition of 4000 copies with a price of 250$ each.
