10 years ago today, we lost someone very special, and our guitars have been gently weeping ever since. George Harrison, the Quiet Beatle, has left a loud impression on us, not only for being one of the greatest guitar players to ever live, but for changing the way we listen to music. It was his initiative that brought The Beatles to India and the Indian meditation and sitar to Western ears. This is, of course, after he and John, Paul and Ringo shook the world loose with Beatlemaniacal Rock ‘n’ Roll. His individuality always grew and he wore his easygoing swagger and rockstar nobility beautifully. This year, Martin Scorcese released a documentary on George that illuminated him to us even more deeply. He really was Something, wasn’t he? The Beatles: 27 #1 Singles in Style

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away, because The Beatles 1 was released – digitally remastered. This album houses the 27 singles by the Fab Four that reached number one on the Billboard charts in the UK and the US. In honor of that, we’ve sequestered 27 little known photos of the Beatles as singles, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

We’ve established that The Beatles are The Best Dressed Man Band of All Time, but what about their fans? Does the impeccable style of The Fab Four penetrate the fashionable wits of those dedicated to the music of John, Paul, George and Ringo? This past weekend, Beatles fans from across the universe united for a hotel takeover to celebrate the legacy of peace, love and sensational music at The Fest for Beatles Fans. This year I was there as more than a fan (and festival coordinator), I was FashionIndie’s eye, on the lookout out for the best executed Beatles era throwbacks.

Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes and she's wearing a mod mini, psychedelic paisley, suede fringe, chains and a headband.

Now this is the kind of clothing you want to be caught wearing in the party pics section of Vice. Something is a label so underground, it’s not easy to come by due to the fact that it’s only sold at select boutiques, and you can forget about shopping online-that’s how cool it is. Even though it plays hard to get, it’s still worth scouring every remote specialty shop for.

The label consists of eclectic silhouettes, colorful, playful prints, and beautifully odd graphics including pandas, cats, and wolves. It’s kinda Urban Outfitters-y but not as trite. To head designer, Natalie Wood, who has also been behind other cult labels like Beauty of Nature, and Sample, it’s about quality and individuality over accessibility. “We’re not about dominance of the fashion scene, we just want to make cool shit.” Basically, the philosophy is all about doing what you want, and setting your own trends rather than following them.
