KROQ House

Everybody, and I mean errbody is gonna be raging at the KROQ Coachella House. Last weekend they have every major act swing through for a set: Florence and the Machine, The Black Keys, The Shins, nearly everyone I listed above as my must-sees. Plus, I’ve got an appointment with the Doctor… Dr. Martens is kicking it poolside too.

Desert Gold: Roadside Attraction at the Ace Hotel

If you’re still out in the desert, wander to the Ace Hotel where they’re still partying strong, even now! Rolling Stone Rock Room

Rolling Stone is taking over a Palm Springs Motel, transforming it into the Rolling Stone Rock Room to host a weekend’s worth of Rock Room artist interview, DJ sets, acoustic performances, ping pong tournaments with SPiN Galactic, pop up photo/art exhibits, and more.  Havaianas be poolside for it all, offering up Make Your Own Havaianas and the 2012 collection for sale.  April 20^th- 22^nd at the Riviera in Palm Springs

Desert Daze

Raging FREE all week, (albeit without a pool) is a mini festival for those double weekenders with tents and a mountain of… adrenaline. It’s freaking packed with music and guaranteed wildness from local acts like Electric Flower Group, Dead Meadow, Akron/Family, The Entrance Band, Here We Go Magic and a whole raging roster. It’s a real festival with art installations, workshops and yummy foodtrucks. It’s your festival away from festival, and a place to go when you’re tweakin’ after hours, or at 10AM. At Dillon’s Roadhouse, presented by Moon Block Party.

Now I know we don’t really cover too much music on Fashion Indie, but when I read this I just couldn’t keep it to myself. SPIN Magazine made my day today with their article literally saying that Radiohead blows. I’ve never been a fan of the band at all, and have adivacated quite frequently that they are over hyped douche bags, who play terrible music, and rock a mean elitist indie persona (when in reality they are all millionaires). Well it seems that my thoughts are shared by Chris Norris who was brave enough to speak out against the cult band in an article in SPIN Magazine.

So in case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been exposing my musical pleasures of late on the site in hopes that you would not only pick up on some new music, but get to know what I’m all about a bit more. Well one band that I have been following since my freshman year in high school (that’s right 8 years) is Paramore, and while I’ve been taking a ton of heat for it from everyone at the office lately, I will back them 100% always (doesn’t help that I think lead singer Hayley Williams is absolutely gorgeous).

Moving on to the real point of this story. The red headed lead singer recently sat down with Spin Magazine to talk about the bands latest album Brand New Eyes, how the band almost split up, and whether she dreams about other rock stars or not. The interview is actually pretty funny she talks about how she was more excited to see Paulie Shore than Diddy.

What do you get when you get a gay gossip blogger, half-decent talent, unfilled venues, and copious amounts of alcohol? If you guessed a failing tour you are correct! Our friends at Spin Magazine have quite the interesting article detailing how terrible the tour has been going, and how Ida Maria basically spent her past three dates, prior to dropping off the tour, more or less black out drunk and stumbling all over stage. Good work Perez! How come I didn’t hear about all of these happenings on your blog?

Brit-pop sensation Lily Allen makes a fabulous cover girl for the February issue of Spin Magazine. Photographer Ellen von Unwerth shot Allen for the cover and spread inside. Girlfriend looks fabulous in some of the best dresses I’ve seen in awhile. The number with the black stars in my absolute favorite, but the shoes she’s wearing while standing on the stairs bring tears to my eyes. I’ve always admired and respected Allen, not only for her awesome music, but her individualistic style as well. I’m not a Spin reader, but I might have to snag this issue.
