A Burberry tailored trench coat is more than just a staple, it's an icon.

It's early to say so but get ready to transition to summer by adding a bright punch to your trench,

We always recommend if you want to change up your neutral colors but don't want to go too far that you always opt for a subtle print or pattern.

Who says that all raincoats are created equally? This may not take you through the extremes of hurricanes but it's a great look for light rain or one of those in between days.

If you're not a person who doesn't like alternating jackets then pick a trench that looks and functions as your every day coat.

If you're going to do a longer trench make sure it looks "oversized" and not just too big for you. That means tailoring it to your body.

There's nothing wrong with following the season's trend. Just make sure if you do that it doesn't break the back since we all know this industry is all about change.

We’ve decided to take on this challenge and dip-dye my hair, mermaid style (beware brunettes, you’ll have to commit to a minor bleach job).  My freshly bleached tips went from purple to blue to green, giving me a cool hued rainbow effect, without going too crazy.  Since April is all about being conscious of the environment and the products we use, go with Manic Panic, a cruelty free and vegan hair dye.  Check out the final result:

If there is one thing that we can all agree that spring's weather is temperamental. (See what I did there?) On a chiller day a wool blend option will help keep you warm without worrying about throwing on a light jacket.

Take note from the men's jackets from fall and winter and go for the varsity look.

Not all students are created equally so here are a few options.

The Traditional Student:

This outfit is great for the everyday guy. This outfit is about comfort and ease. (We all know commencement services are way too dragged out.) The colors are light and simple so they can go under any color gown.

The Fashionisto Student:

The Fashionisto Student is one who is taking the dress rules into his hands. This outfit says “Look at me. I’m graduating and shutting it down #BOOM”

The IDGAF Student:

This is the guy who sat in the back of every class and his  mantra was “D’s are for degrees” He could care less that he’s graduating and is pleased that he managed to even wear clothes underneath his cap and gown.

The denim collection boasts every type of jean — skinny, boyfriend, drop crotch, straight leg — each treated with a burst of cosmetics  for a signature spin.  Whether it be a splash of purple eyeshadow on the butt or bursts of pink blusher throughout the thighs, the collection brought a bright, uplifting feeling into your Spring denim selection.

Once you figured out what pair best suited you, Make Up Forever artists were ready to give you matching makeovers!  They were painting on bold lips and pops of eye color in magenta, teal, yellow, and blue, with their new liquid eyeliner.

The denim bar has fun spring colors including dusty blue, yellow, coral, teal, white, and railroad stripe. My personal favorite were the destroyed white skinny, which didn’t have much stretch but fit very true to size. A runner up were the super skinny stretch teal jeans, which were a powdery light color that once painted on your body, were surprisingly flattering.

Layer 5: The Throw. On top is a thin sarong aka giant scarf aka sheet. It should be about 5 feet in one direction, enough so you can wrap yourself in it. A soft traditional cotton feels great, but get experimental. A stretch jersey or linen or silk or wool (but not this time of year) each has its own benefits.

Layer 4: The Netted Sweater. Find a cropped sweater with a gaping crochet or knit. The holier the better for seeing through to the layers underneath. It will ad some insulation from the chill, but you won’t overheat. Cheap trick: find a sweater like this at Goodwill and crop it yourself.

Layer 3: The Thin Open Cardigan. An open layer that’s thin won’t weigh you down or heat you up. This one is by Rick Owens and sure to be luxuriously fabricated with the most breathable knit there is, but you can find a sweater akin to this anywhere.

Layer 2: The Sheer Button Up: This is the first line of defense on your arms. Barely there, it allows airflow and vision straight through to the dress beneath. Button to the top for an austere, yet surprisingly sexy effect.

Layer 1: The Maxi Dress. The smooth length of the floor length dress is an excellent canvas to paint layers upon. I like the stripes because it permits the eye to accept the choppy layers you’ll be applying atop it. This one is around $60 in the UK, but there are many great maxi dresses out in the American Market.

Now go forth and layer. Forgo the coat!

And that’s why we took to the West Village this morning, following model Anne V. to the international annual One Day Without Shoes Barefoot Walk. Curious press and vehement TOMS supporters alike marched along the Christopher Street Pier, toes to the world, picket signs raised in rally.

And it’s happening all the way across the globe. Even in Norway where there’s still snow on the ground! All over the country from LA to Dallas, to Chicago, to Newark, Delaware, people went on shoe-free walks and stayed barefoot all day long today. How does it raise awareness, you ask? Well, when one walks barefoot in the middle of… anywhere that’s not a beach or a yoga studio, people wonder why. And then it’s our job to tell them about the plight of the shoeless and what TOMS is doing to help.

For this edition of MISTER TRENDS  I am covering floral print for men this season. The inspiration for this trend comes from D&G’s S/S 2011 collection. Many men might see a floral print and thin of a very feminine summer dress but the tables have turned and now guys and have some flower power in their closets.

For starters a floral shirt can be done right if done subtle. For instance this PS by Paul Smith shirt is absolutely beautiful but can be worn under any basic sweater or blazer as the pop.

Speaking of sweater this basic black one from Topman with a little floral detail around the neck is perfect for those in between days that Spring can offer.

If you want to go for a bolder look than the bright yellow floral pants that photographer Scott Schuman caught this man in can probably work for you.

Now your accessories can be as bold as can be. Since they are smaller you can wear any basic outfit and throw these floral Ray-Bans on for cool look that is still on trend. I think Dr. Marten shoes are extremely masculine was pleasantly surprised that they offered a whole floral collection for this season and even a few more for fall.

This is a great trend, but make sure not to over kill or you’ll look like you’ve been trapped in a bad flower garden.

Inspired by nature, the Fernandez sisters use citrus and floral notes to create rich and straightforward fragrances that can be worn on any occasion. Right now, I am wearing Jasmine Joy on one wrist and Citrus Charm on the other. Jasmine Joy reminds me so much of a spring walk in Central Park, minus the homeless people, with a blend of honeysuckle, jasmine and sandalwood. Citrus Charm is what I want my mornings to smell like with an energizing mix of grapefruit, mandarin and water lily. I’m totally hooked and not the only believer. Celebs like Mila Kunis, Jaime Pressly and Demi Moore are huge fans.

This week’s trend is Neon Lights. This translates into big and bold colors all over the place.

The designer inspiration comes from Jil Sander‘s Spring/Summer 2011 men collection which features bright neons on everything from sweaters,  to trousers, and outerwear.

For your tops look no further than a PS by Paul Smith crew neck. If you need a lower price point than an bright green H&M button down shirt will do the trick.

Since you can’t walk out pants less this spring it’s only right that you go bright on your bottom. You can get some great trousers and shorts from Diesel. If you’re going to take a dip in the water or just want to look good on the beach or poolside an Orlebar Brown swimsuit will help you out.

The biggest way to transform style is through accessories. This being said you can brighten up a rather dark outfit with the following accouterments.  You can throw own a classic pair of Ray-Bans with a pop or even a Nixon watch. To top everything off you can splurge on a pair of Prada Creepers.
