Moments of Style: Amber Valletta
Amber Valletta this shimmering Stella McCartney Spring 2009 jumpsuit with a dusty pink oversized blazer to the GQ Men of the Year Awards.
Honestly, when I saw this on the runway I didn’t like it, but in person (well, sitting here staring) it looks great. Love the blazer over it, perfect way to wear the jumpsuit…
Thanks Fabulousness for the pics

Fashion F*ck-Ups: Gwyneth Paltrow
I’m not one to discriminate based on age when it comes to wardrobe choices. If you have awesome legs at 70, rock a mini, I don’t care. But it has to fit!
Gwyneth Paltrow, of course, is not quite 70, but she seemed to be losing her strapless Stella McCartney dress at the Fontainebleau Grand Opening Party in Miami Beach on Friday. She could have done much better than this unflattering fit.

Alexander Wang, Michael Kors, Stella McCartney Give Peace a Chance
Alexander Wang, Michael Kors and Stella McCartney are just a few of the designers tapped by Barneys to give peace a chance. Each one has designed a one of a kind dress for retailer to be on display for their Have A Hippie Holiday windows.
The dresses go on display on Sunday. Ralph Lauren, Martin Margiela, Isabela Toledo, and Narcisco Rodriquez will also join the mix.

Comme des Garcons=Crumby des Garcons
Anyone with two eyes and the ability to take a hint can tell that the Comme des Garcons for H&M party preview wasn’t all that successful. After watching the sneak peak video, which appeared on New York Magazine’s: The Cut, I got an up close and personal view of the clothes. I’ll be honest with you…they don’t look as great as I thought. Up close, the women’s blazers don’t seem like they would look flattering on an actual body and the ruffled overcoat will probably need some professional fitting. One attendee commented on polka-dots dominating the collection: ”That’s a lot of dots…and I’m not a Dalmatian” and he also added that there will be “No lining up…it’s way too cold.” On the other hand, a party go-er who waited 16 hours for the Stella McCartney collaboration is excited for the line because “black is so versatile.” Thanks. I didn’t know.
Sorry if I got you guys all excited for the Comme Des Garcons line at H&M. Looks like November 13th will be just another day to sleep in (sigh).
Thanks for the video NY Mag!

Stella and Ed…GIVE ME MORE!

Stella McCartney S/S 2009.

Ed Ruscha's "The End" circa 1991.
Recently speaking of collaborations, here is one that I wait for in immense anticipation. No, we’re not talking Jill Sander for Forever 21 or anything like that, we’re talking about the collaboration of fashion designer Stella McCartney and pop artist Ed Ruscha (well known for the 20th Century Fox logo). Grab your calendars, because October 23rd at 10PM marks the date and time that Iconoclasts airs their documentary “Stella McCartney + Ed Ruscha” on the Sundance Channel.
Lucky for me, I was able to take a look at the documentary before the premier, and let me tell you, it is was completely worth watching! Unlike many documentaries, the subjects Stella and Ed actually tell their own creation stories, explain their relationship and pitch ideas to one another for an upcoming collaboration line. I really appreciated the behind the scenes footage of Stella at fittings and Ed explaining inspiration for paintings. And by the looks and sounds of the the McCartney/Ruscha collaboration line, I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for it!
My only criticism is that the documentary ended with Ruscha accept McCartney’s pitches for the collaboration. What! We don’t get a sneak peek of the line? Just throw the dog a bone already would you!
Visit Iconoclasts for photos, videos and more about the collaboration! Thanks for the photo Style!
