Style.com’s Tweet Chic has decided to feature the questionable journalism of barely blogger Bryan Boy, a series of shots of his latest New York “hook-up” undressing at Darkroom. I love that Conde Nast is no longer concerned with actual editorial (or class for that matter) anymore. It makes my job a hell of a lot easier. We’ve got the full series of BryanBoy’s wannabe underwear model in his tightie whities after the jump. Isn’t it great that this is what Vogue considers the “future of fashion”?

I totally do, and I don’t see it as a bad thing. You don’t fight but embrace a natural evolution, really, and try to figure out how it would reveal new creative fields within global access, and multimedia features.

The Web site magazine will come way before the print version in the next decade. I don’t see any way around it, really. With the rise of the Internet, fashion did become part of the global entertainment industry in the last ten years, and will follow the digital evolution of the music or film industry.

Besides, immediacy is better than old news. The “manufacturing” process of a magazine is far too long for this world, for the definition and idea that fashion is about “right now.” I guess it is more about “right now” now than ever before.

That said, fashion magazines, glossy magazines still use their Web sites for daily news and information only. I trust it might be interesting to invest strongly in art direction, besides hiring top editors, top photographers, and top models, which is hardly enough for Internet pages.

Quite certainly, the Web sites of the magazines will have to move away from the “blog” format and create an inspiring, tight template for their photo productions or editorial content, a Web site that has the [same feeling of] luxury and glamour as flipping through a heavy glossy magazine.

It is interesting to think how someone like Alexey Brodovitch would have investigated this medium to create typography and layouts in motion. It is now an open field for a new generation of editors in chief and art directors.

I hear one of the reasons for the lack of investment is advertising, although I trust advertising would follow immediately, if provided a reassuring image template for their costly ads.

I finally believe the printed magazine will then become a collector’s item, and hopefully a reference to be kept preciously.

Therefore, the commercial issues of advertising credits might move toward the Internet, [while] the most inspiring fashion stories could become exclusive to the printed collectible version.

Most of us were in complete awe when the news came of McQueen’s sudden death, yet some were not as taken by it. Tim Blanks, a critic for Style.com, stated “I was thunderstruck by the news, and then not,” probably because McQueen did not hide his abuse with alcohol, drugs, and sex.

Lee Alexander McQueen was found in his home this morning, he ended his own life days after the death of his mother on Feb. 2 and the day before her funeral.

Terrible or not (okay, terrible), everyone seems to hate Lindsay Lohan and Ungaro. Good thing it was just for publicity? Here’s what the big guns had to say about it:

1.) The Washington Post: “The collection was dominated by fuchsia. It included safety-orange ruched leggings, heart prints, genie pants and heart-shaped glittering pasties. It lacked finesse, sophistication, technical skill and any evidence of good taste. Everyone involved seemed in over their head — swept up in a giant publicity-spewing machine.”

2.) WSJ: “it was hard to imagine that Ms. Lohan and Archs could concoct a collection that is as cringe-worthy as this. Some models appeared on the runway with glittering heart-shaped pasties on their nipples, worn under blazers. Others wore the pasties on their foreheads. Highlights included hot pink streetwalker dresses, an unending hearts motif, and a skintight white mini dress so short that the model’s cheeks hung below the hemline.”

3.) Style.com: “This quickly devolved into a bad joke of a fashion show, one with questionable color combinations, “bad eighties” draped silk jackets and drop-crotch pants, old-fashioned and ill-judged fur stoles, and, yes, tasteless sequin pasties. To top it off, the fabrics and the construction lacked the finesse you expect from a famous Avenue Montaigne brand.”

4.) WWD: “As for the clothes, they looked cheesy and dated … Hot pink, orange and flashy, with an overworked heart motif relentless in its execution, the collection displayed none of the promised younger side Lohan was supposed to deliver. Nor in a million years would one guess that the lineup was designed by one young woman and “creative directed” by another. Glitter heart pasties all around, ladies?“

5.) The New York Times: “Ms. Lohan’s arrival at a 45-year-old Paris house known for $1,500 dresses and a tradition of couture craftsmanship is entirely different, something akin to a McDonald’s fry cook taking the reins of a three-star Michelin restaurant.”

I love when one top blog, bashes another top blog, and Fashion Indie is no where in the mix. The Cut, don’t you realize that the folks at Men.Style.com think they are ahead of the trends/stylish. Don’t make fun of their anti-chaffing leather pants and Navaho Jackets. They’re just trying to be more like Fashion Indie…

You have to love Michael Kors look from the mid-eighties. The then young designer had hair, non-melenoma prone skin, and even had eyebrows!!!  Oh, what a season on Project Runway will do to you. He comments on his Big Break moment below and his major fashion mistake (as if the current spray-on tan look isn’t bad enough).

“There have been many, but I guess the first would be my first season getting windows at Bergdorf Goodman. I was physically on the street at two in the morning directing them as they put the mannequins in.”

Indie filmmaking, whatever patron saint Chloë Sevigny is up to now, headbands.

The (New) New Bohemians: Golden Couple
Waris Ahluwalia, the affable Sikh about town, and Chiara Clemente, the pretty daughter of famed painter Francesco, met through mutual friends (and then-couple) Tara Subkoff and Wes Anderson in 2003 when Ahluwalia was filming Anderson’s flick The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. Since then, “Wariara,” if you will, has become something of a New York anomaly: a society couple whose devotion doesn’t seem to end the moment the paparazzi leave. On their occasional nights in, they like to host cozy dinner parties, featuring his Indian table settings and her Italian menu. Awwww.

The (New) New Bohemians: Famous BFF
It was only a matter of time before the queen of boho chic fell in with this pack of well-heeled hiperati. Mary-Kate Olsen pals around with MisShapes hottie Leigh Lezark and is a regular at L.E.S. hot spots like Sweet Paradise. She’s also co-writing a book with sister Ashley and frequent Style.com contributor Derek Blasberg, which will include interviews with fashion and art-world heavyweights like Christian Louboutin and Terry Richardson. It’s a potentially cool project that could almost make us forget about that guest spot she did on 7th Heaven. Almost.
