What: The 2^nd Supima Emerging Designer Competition. If you are an aspiring fashion designer and you want runway exposure as well as support from big shots in the business, this is your chance! The contest is modeled after the legendary 1954 Wool Secretariat competition that launched the careers of the then-teenaged Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld. You could very well be next! 

Where: The Thompson Hotel in SoHo

When: November 20 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m

What to Bring: Bring a women’s evening wear sketch, portfolio, résumé, and garment that you have designed and sewn. And please people, this is an open call…lots of people, lots of talent…you want to look good…learn from the fashion mistakes of the Rodarte girls! 

Announcing an opportunity for emerging design talent; Supima has created a runway event to showcase the best upcoming talent with fabrics made from Supima, the world’s most luxurious cotton.  The latest Supima fabrics from top international mills will be given to designers selected to create a women’s wear piece.  The resulting design will be presented at a live runway show that will take place the evening of July 15th at Gotham Hall, NYC.

To be considered for participation, interested designers will need to present at an open call that will take place on Tuesday June 17th from 4pm to 9pm at the Thompson Hotel in SoHo. Designers will interview with a panel composed of fashion editors, established designers and Supima representatives.
