Billabong Hits the Billablog for Spring 2012 Collaboration with Oracle Fox

Seems like Billabong has been surfing the blogosphere for inspiration. Billabong’s Design Director Mandy Robinson has been obsessing over Oracle Fox, especially since her trip to Australia. Amanda Shadforth, the blogger behind Oracle Fox, grew up surfboard under foot, friends at the ready, even now, to chill on Sydney’s beaches. Her blog fuses that super chill lifestyle with her sleek style interpretation through editorials, icons, designer interviews and the likes on a plate of positive brights. Thus the Billabong team approached Oracle Fox to collaborate on a Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

The 17-piece collection is “more Australian than ever” with a black and white geo-tribal print surfacing on the bikini, short shorts and mini dress, and lace up shorts with rock’n'roll vibes. An all lace bell sleeve dress hits the middle ground of surfer and style star – always ready for the swimsuit underneath. Organic tri-blend shirts flow cropped with a reckless message, A.K.A. to live with the same fabulous reckless abandon as Oracle Fox.

Forget the Dreary Weather! Roxy is Always Sunny & Bright

Stepping out of the cold rain and into the Roxy summer 2011 collections preview gave me hope that warmer weather will be here sooner than we think. The colorful line is inspired by world travel, and it’s easy to see how the ethnic prints and bold embellishments could transport you to the middle of a long summer day along the equator. Sundresses and bikinis hung from a vintage Volkswagen van while bags and beach towels sat among palm trees, sand and the shade of bright beach umbrellas. Made-to-order breakfast tacos and fresh horchata kept bellies occupied as eyes glazed-over thinking about sunnier days, big ocean waves and the fun, sexy Roxy collections.
