Wiloh Clothing: T shirt label looking for stockists

Wiloh is an online clothing store for the artistic fashion crowd. We are currently looking for stockists in the States and UK but also world wide. Please get in contact if you are a fashion buyer, shop owner or have a friend that would be interested.

The Wiloh concept is a collaboration between myself: Angela – born Sydney Sider – former Graphic Designer, and: Edward Cinelli – born New Yorker – former Marine. We started Wiloh because we shared the same passions – street wear fashion and eco-awareness.

The Wiloh online store currently stocks it’s own a range of artistic graphic tees for Men and Women designed by globally popular established Artists. All Artist’s designs are printed on high quality organic cotton or organic bamboo tees using only eco-friendly water based inks.

Our designers come from Italy, Columbia, Iceland, Australia and Argentina. They all have strong online fan followings, are popular within the blogosphere, have been multiple time published in print publications and have done many collaborations with other street wear labels. We are always on the look out for the next top selling artists to add to our pool of designers.

If you’d like to become a stockist please get in touch.

The Golden Age of Aussie Hip Hop

Edited by

The 1990s were the golden age/ era of not only American hip hop, but Australian too…

I know, coz I was there!

In those days the fashion was all about: parachute sportswear jackets, shell-toes, air maxes, Air 180s, Nike structures, huraches, Lacoste, Jag, Country Road bags and embroidered jumpers, Sportscraft, Polo, Guess jeans, tailored shorts, tennis wears, Caribee backpacks, Jazz and New West aftershave, Kangols, Stussy, puffer jackets and vests, checkered/tartan button-ups, Timberland boots, Jordan and other fly shit too.

*These were the days before: the internet, graffiti t-shirts, graffiti spray paint brands, special paint caps, digital cameras, every man and his dog emceeing about beer and bitches…and the death of vinyl deejays.

These were the days of: swapping flix through snail mail, TDK tapes, walkmans, catching loops to thrash insides, 30 ml markers, raven oil, making mix-tapes, underage drinkin’ in the park, The Source, Rap Pages, Hip Hop Connection, Sprayed Conflict, Melbourne cops trashing pieces, Blitzkrieg, Recovery, IGT, Hype, Central Station, Zest, Vapours, Yo! MTV raps, going to good hip hop clubs to hear ragga, funk and hip hop, local releases only on tape and vinyl, Plasticotes, touch-ups, Krylons, Snapple, secondhand bargains, rolling cats in the city for their sneakers and racking everything in sight before the big stores got with the program.

Some of the key players in the Australian hip hop music scene were: MAMAS FUNK, AKA BROTHERS, PURE MINDED POETRY, ORGANIZED RHYME, PAC, INTENSE QUALITY, FINGER LICKIN’ GOOD, RED EYED PEEZ, HOMEBREWED, SOUND UNLIMITED POSSE, DEF WISH CAST, FONKE KNOMADS, GROOVE TERMINATOR, FRENZIE, CODE OF ETHICS, MC QUE, ACAPULLO GOLD, DELTA, RUEBEN, SUEZ, DECYPHER, TOWERING INFERNO, GEN ONE, HAMS, FELICITE, KATCH, NIGEL, A.S.K, FLAK, KRISY, TASH, DEDLEE, FX, DAMSEL,POSITIVE DIRECTION, ASWAN, RUFFNEXETT, SEANY B, RAISE, BLUNTED STYLUS, EXCEL, SOUP, THA FORMULATORS, IDEM, RFK, HILLTOP HOODS, TREY, MOSTYN, SIA yes the Sia who now is doin’ big tings in the UK and to the old heads, let me know the few I may have forgotten, but believe me, there won’t be many more coz we truly were an underground, small scene. Also send in your flix from the 90s!!

Dedication and passion. Searching. Fun. Street. The essence. Underground.

Here’s some flix I dug up from this era…I was living down south, in Adelaide and Melbourne at the time so it’s a lil’ bit biased. Also I was too young for the birth of hip hop music in Australia in the 80s so don’t hate- I’m just droppin’ some knowledge on the era I lived. Stay tuned for more! *Note-this post is just talkin bout the MUSIC scene at this time.

A LITTLE PIECE OF WORLD DOMINATION

Edited by

As previously mentioned, I’m embarking on some new projects – one of which is contributing my street style to the Peny Lane blog. The lovely Peny herself was kind enough to say a few flattering words announcing my upcoming contributions…

Much like Pinky and the Brain, we’re out for world domination at the moment. Unlike the bulbous headed mouse however, we don’t want to take over the world, we just want to see a bit more of it on our blog to help liven up the days. So bit by bit we’re expanding, starting with some street style snaps in the big smoke of Sydneytown. We’ve managed to rope in talented photographer and style blogger Rachel from ‘I want what she’s wearing’ to capture and share with us some visual delights. Even if fashion ain’t your thing, who doesn’t mind a bit of eye candy eh? She will be contributing to our blog whenever the mood strikes, and is currently on the hunt for stylish Sydney siders, fierce threads and babes with beards.

A LITTLE PIECE OF WORLD DOMINATION

To start off with Rachel has shared with us one of her favourite photographs taken at the recent RAFW of none other than Brisbane local/New York present (I believe?) stylist Lucy Laught, who also has a delightful personal style blog. Despite the Australian icon in the background and the beautiful blue ocean, I think it’s safe to say that this image is all about that Mulberry bag. Break me off a piece of that!

Keep an eye on Peny Lane for more street style (I will post things there that are not featured on this blog and vice versa – keep it fresh) and all things bearded!
