RUNWAY RUNDOWN: San & Soni Fall 2009

RUNWAY RUNDOWN: San & Soni Fall 2009 emerging fashionThe FIT love birds have done it again with another trendy, yet edgy, collection for Fall 2009. As relatively new designers, this Fall marks Sonali and Inderjeet Singh’s fourth season, and in my opinion, a milestone collection. But San & Soni have gone beyond the typical trends of the moments and put a little spin on the boyfriend blazer, high-waisted harem pants and silk prints. With drapes, tiers, embroidery and a handful of asymmetrical Grecian looks, San & Soni’s Fall 2009 collection surely doesn’t skip out on the details.

San & Soni is available at TG170 in the Lower East Side (170 Ludlow Street)

DESIGNER TO KNOW: Chris Habana

DESIGNER TO KNOW: Chris Habana emerging fashionDESIGNER TO KNOW: Chris Habana emerging fashionFrom dark gothic anti-christ symbols to playful pop icons, the unisex jewelry of Brooklyn based Chris Habana are some one-of-a-kind, unique pieces. I’ve seen Habana’s work all over Greenwich Village hipsters and I must say, they are quite eye-catching. Now, I’m not the biggest fan of the pop-art words and phrases, but I’m loving the array of fish hooks, nails, spikes, crosses, bones and Alex & Chloe-esque geometric cages dangling from long chains. As a big fan of the layered jewelry look, I can totally see a conglomerate of these necklaces making for some edgy outfit accessories.

Check out Chris Habana’s jewelry at a variety of New York shops like Oak, Bblessing and TG170!
