The Academy Awards are this Sunday which means that Meryl Streep is sticking pins in her Viola Davis vooodoo doll, George Clooney is readying his smug acceptance speech and Brad Pitt is scraping the last Jolie-Pitt scion off his scraggly goatee in preparation for the big night. Nothing screams an All American summer such as a good pair of blue jeans. Some days it is way t hot for long jeans, and denim shorts aren’t always appropriate. There seems to be one clear solultion: denim dresses.

On the heels of dismissing chief designer Patrick Robinson, Gap Inc. is addressing the gap in international and online sales — which are growing rapidly and expected to make up 30 percent of revenue by 2013 — and North American sales — which…not so much.

Though Heatherette is all but ancient history, Richie Rich is still a glam club kid at heart. Amidst a sea of models – bones and high ponytails from wall to ceiling – I met up with the designer and his design director Angelo Lambrou during a casting call for Richie’s runway show. This will be his second collection for his eponymous label and will be held at the Hammerstein Ballroom on February 10th at 9 pm. Proceeds will go to benefit two causes very close to Richie’s sequined heart: DoSomething.org and Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. We discussed Richie’s fabulous inspirations, his fabulous friends and the first time he met Madonna. Which was, you guessed it, fabulous.
