The rogue knitting artist known as knittaplease is wrapping her yarns all up on some shades. This year’s Sunglass Hut Artist Series has taken on the KNITTA, Magda Sayeg to create limited edition frames that will benefit OneSight, a charity that helps preserve the eyesight of those in need worldwide. Knitta goes all over the globe tagging public spaces (moments, vehicles, road signs…) with her knitwear. It brings a bit of cozy confusion to passersby, and it has brought her (commissioned) to The Standard Hotel, South By Southwest, and the Austin City Limits Festival.

The Lady’s Gagas were out all over the place last night at the CFDA Awards and then the studded thong came out as she danced the night away at the after party at The Standard.

Lady Gaga’s nips posed for their very own photo op on the red carpet before being covered up in a sheer bodysuit later in the night.

(Meanwhile, I love Nicola Formichetti throwing it up in the background.)

Her ladybits, however, tried to sneak past that minefield of thong studs time and time again.

Then there was the matter of the 24-inch heel-less Mugler platforms that required the assistance of her security team — who must secretly be tickled pink at their job responsibilities.

Gags changed out of them for the dancing and just in time for a duet with diva of divas, Patti LaBelle.

Clearly Lady Gaga was feeling good from her head to her shoes — all 24-inches of them. Woo-hoo! She’s got a new attitude!

Bensoni described the fall/winter 2011 collection with characters from a gothic wedding: country cousins in tartan, plaids and military coats; flower girls in the signature melting rose print; bridesmaids wearing audacious dresses to steal attention from the bride; and the somber mother of the bride, clad completely in black, mourning the loss of her daughter’s innocence. The fatigued, Sunday night fashion week crowd at The Standard bounced at the site of luscious furs, heavily adorned Jinny Kim for Bensoni shoes and opulent metallic fabrics. Armor jewelry made a statement with body bling resembling rib cages and neck-to-collarbone beaded chokers. Serious, yet radiant, the wearer won’t have one boring moment in this collection.

NUMBER:Lab garments are for men who want to look and feel great before, during and after the gym and beyond. Designer Luis Fernandez stayed true to well-tailored essentials and casual-cool sportswear in the Fall/Winter 2011 collection. Setting the mood with a hockey game on the ice rink outside The Standard, handsome garments in grey and navy were splashed with bright neon yellow, cobalt and purple accents. Nylon parkas and wool blazers were layered atop woven shirts and cotton trousers. Attendees were feisty and energetic as music from Depeche Mode, Air and Cut Copy filled the crowded room. Preppy but not stuffy, NUMBER:Lab had the sporty, sexy, low-maintenance gentleman in mind for F/W.

One of the most infamous party spots in New York City has finally joined up with the 21st century.

I’ve enjoyed many drunken nights at The Standard Hotel. This is because the places hosts both The Boom Boom Room and Le Bain. Not everyone can get into the scared space so they launched a cool new website focusing on culture. You can do anything from reading their blog about the day to day awesomeness of the hotel and even get a pair of limited edition Quiksilver board shorts. Visit the site here.
