Designers Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi brought us an array of memorable pieces. Cocoon coats, cutout dresses, hard edge skirt-suits and floral print silks were among the collection’s successes. It’s the perfect mix of feminine and masculine, introducing a whole new androgynous flavor to the fashion scene.

If one were to generalize the Preen Spring 2010 collection, the words “ready-to-wear lingerie” would undoubtedly be used. A patchwork of bondage-like laces and ruffles made for some gorgeous mini dresses while high-waisted pants and big-shouldered blouses insinuated a sexy business professional vibe. Designers Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi rarely cease to amaze me with their uncanny use of texture and immaculate detail. Another Preen collection to drool over!

Preen designers Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thornton based the season’ fashions on the films Quadrophenia and Blade Runner, explaining the obnoxious houndstooth pattern and some of the apron-esque pieces. The swirly pastel pieces as well as the optical-illusion patterns seemed like very amateur choices for such an established line. While I was a huge fan of the 80′s inspired cut out body-con dresses, they didn’t fit in the collection leaving me begging for more of these looks.
