How Theophilus London Inspires Kanye West’s Style

Edited by

Hip hop superstar still on the rise, Theohilus London has been inspiring the likes of Kanye West‘s personal style. Shockingly to some, London is his own stylist. He’s damn near a designer, having so much of his wardrobe customized to his eye’s precision. StyleLikeU invaded his closet to expose his philosophy behind getting dressed, and his Rick Owens skant (skirt/pant) and dip dyed Comme des Garçons. Getting his sartorial start by his Aunt Cleo dressing him up in pink tuxes for church, he’s been a rogue voguer since childhood. Now, Timez Are Getting Weird in his closet.

Celebs Came Out in Droves for the Levi’s Fall 2012 Global Collection

Edited by

Yesterday afternoon, News & Culture Editor Lester and I waltzed down to SoHo for Levi’s Fall 2012 Global Collection preview. Before the actual runway show began, we walked around the space, Stella Artois and PBRs in hand, checking out mini instillations inspiring the line. It was a hot spot for celeb sightings, as VIPs like Maria Menounos, Brad Goreski, Zachery Levi, Byrdie Bell, Theophilus London and Jessica White took their places in the front row. Click to see all the famous faces and the collection in full.

Theophilus London Turning Tables for Fashion Week Fêtes

Edited by

Last night, the dapper rapper Theophilus London traded in the mic for a turntable, and took his turn as DJ to the fiery fêtes of NY Fashion Week. The FashionIndies hit the Joseph Abboud after party with London as the DJ on the invite. Fashionably late, and several dirty 90s hip hop  songs in, we realized it was not Theophilus spinning. The new garde fashionisto had already made moves for a more (literally) underground party at the W Hotel‘s former Downstairs, the new Lilium. Well played, sir. We made our way W-wards and got down to his rap ass rap set. Don’t get too bummed, catch his set tonight, if you can.

Versace x H&M: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Edited by

Animals. We became animals over the animal-geo-floral-tropic printed Versace x H&M collection. And this was at the press pre-release! Friday evening, editors, bloggers, and VIPs sauntered up to the H&M on the corner of 51st and 5th Ave expecting to give a name and stroll in for some cordial industry-insider shopping. What we found was a line around the block (next to bundled up kiddies already camped out for the actual Saturday 9AM opening), and a shopping ferocity usually reserved for Black Friday

Theophilus London Raps for Fashion Journalists, Not Models

Edited by

Wise man, Theophilus London is, as we’ll be the ones writing about him. This Brooklyn born rapper has bound onto the scene wearing nothing but fabulous, claiming to “not like fashion” yet is starting his own line, collaborating on Cole Haan shoes, throwing up vids of his shopping adventures, and sitting front row at Lanvin during Paris Fashion Week. He’s also starring in a campaign for Carlos Campos, and just played with Solange Knowles at Opening Ceremony‘s block party. Wake up Mr. West, this boy is carving out his space as hip-hop’s new fashion paragon.

Coachella Music Festival
can be summed up in two words: sensory overload. Music and fashion lovers gathered in numbers around 250,000 in the piping hot desert of Palm Springs for a three day, six stage, 200+ band concert series. In addition to every trendsetter and eccentric in the country, the performances drew in the best of the fashion industry and young Hollywood. FashionIndie & Lookbooks was there to witness it all, and we certainly have a lot to report on. Here’s our recap of the best fashion events of the weekend.
