INDIE REWIND: 10 Stoner Style Don’ts for 420

Edited by

To quote a famous poet, “I got the Rolly on my arm and I’m pourin’ Chandon/ And I roll the best weed ’cause I got it goin’ on.” Yes, we can all have it going on this April 20th, just the way his High Holy Snoopness intended it. 420 is like stoner Christmas — the holidaze to end all holidaze. You’re likely to see these mavericks of marijuana — these Wizards of Weedly Place, these potentates of pot intake — wandering the streets and haunting 7-11′s the world over, as out of touch as their wardrobes. Granted, the garden variety stoner is not what one would call a fashionista, but if they can they lift their dreadlocked heads from the sweet, sweet lips of their bong to take a look in the mirror, they can avoid these few style missteps and look as fly as they feel.

Thom Browne Fall 2012 Proves a Point

Edited by

Last season, Thom Browne dropped our jaws with the longest proportions, elongating the limbs and our whims to wear a shirtdress that just doesn’t graze the ground if you’re a 6’1″ woman. This season, he proves a different point, the point of accentuating the natural curves of the body with angular shapes. He brings the waist in with diamond seams, and the shoulders, breasts, hips and knees outward with structured cloth pyramids. He also ponders death and rebirth as models rose out of 10 coffins laying before the audience at the New York Public Library. Was it premonitions of the front-row death of Zelda Kaplan? Likely not, but the collection was drop dead inspiring.

10 Menswear Looks That’ll Have You Tripping Balls

Edited by

Fashion is a trip. But some fashion is trippier than others. It’s those distinct looks in a collection that make your eyes pop a little wider as they expand your consciousness to accept grander philosophies of the universe. This season was rife with designers experimenting with wild menswear, and we’re glad to see the rougher sex getting freaky with the Avant Garde.

Designer Daily: Munsoo Kwon

Edited by

I feel new talent rising. With proportions that reform the body, Munsoo Kwon‘s menswear has a sense of humor with strict attention to detail. These are basics that will change the look of an entire outfit without overpowering. He has apprenticed under Helmut Lang, Robert Geller and Thom Browne, and his philosophy aligns. Now after 5 seasons of designing for Andrew Buckler, Munsoo Kwon is stepping into the light. His Fall 2012 collection is upon us already, getting a jump on the season. See his film and lookbook here.

You Have to Have ‘Have to Have’ for Proper Shopping

Edited by

A new year and a new you means a new way to shop online. Up until now, your interwebbed shopping strategy has comprised a thousand tabs and entirely too many (or too few) untouched shopping carts. So while you’re off living your life, forgetting about that floor length Thom Browne shirt dress you were drooling over last week went on a surprise sale, and now it’s gone. In fact, can’t remember where you found it. Major sadface. That’s why you have to Have to Have, the site that is your universal social shopping cart. And it emails you when your selects go on sale. Now that’s money.
