So turns out that Miss Thang Irene has more bark than bite.  Thousands have been evacuated, all public transportation has been shuttered, and pending propaganda has successfully made us prepare for the apocalypse.  One result of the safety preparations? A rare moment when we find one of the city’s busiest tourist traps completely deserted.  Leave it to our favorite nightlife photog Kirill to capture New York City’s Times Square in her moment of silence during the 2am rain last night.  Photos after the jump.

I just found out about this hilarious webshow that films in Time Square. Their sixth episode featured one of my good friends Steve Kellner, the lead singer of NJ band Van Atta High. Hear about his band, and what the ‘Late Night’ host Paul Costabile has to say.  Plus, catch the hilarious sketch from the team’s ‘musical’ Los Miserobles.”  Gorilla Late Night shoots every Monday at 43rd and Broadway at 8pm, so if you’re ever in Midtown and don’t hate Times Square as much as I do, check it out!
