But one thing was missing from the NYC food scene until this morning when the world’s most renowned macaroonery finally opened its doors here in our fair city. Established in Paris in 1862, Maison Ladurée patisserie has finally landed stateside.

- W‘s longtime fashion and style editor, Alex White, is leaving the mag to pursue her own projects — possibly including an online magazine — but fear not, fellow obsessive editorial lovers! Vogue contributing editor Edward Enninful — whose recent work includes the stunning “The Blackallure” for Vogue Italia — will take her place starting May 1. White has been with W since 1994 and has helped ease what has been a slightly rocky transition from the Patrick McCarthy to Stefano Tonchi era. According to both White and Tonchi, however, the split is amicable and mutually agreed upon. [WWD]

20,000 Screaming Japanese Schoolgirls Coming to a Computer Near You

Though Paris may be the epitome of high fashion, Tokyo has stuck a chopstick in the realm of fast-fashion with it’s biannual Tokyo Girls Collection. TGC is Fashion Week  meets Comic-Con, with over 20,000 attendees forking over as much as 7500 yen ($91.59 — at least the dollar is worth something somewhere) to be part of the action. As models strut down the runway during the 7-hour event, participants can buy the fashions using their cell phones while enjoying J-pop performances peppered throughout the day. And for the first time in TGC’s six year history, the event will be live-streamed.
