With several months of modeling under her belt, 19 year-old Jamaican beauty Sedene Blake has graced the runway for designers Jason Wu, Peter Som, Catherine Malandrino, Derek Lam, Philip Lim and Tommy Hilfiger, as well as photo shoots and spreads for various magazines. Pictures one and two are absolutely stunning! What a great beginning for this fresh and new face…..I expect that there’s much more to come!

It’s taken me a while to make a decision about the denim on denim look, but after seeing it hit the streets in such variety, my verdict is in: two thumbs up! Fear not, I’m not talking about the Americana, Tommy Hilfiger blue-jean material, but the more current raw, light-washed and distressed denim. What I love about the denim on denim trend is its simplicity, its ability to be mixed and matched and its blank-slate, “please enhance me” appeal. Really, the possibilities are endless. I love the raw denims with a bow-tie, suit-coat and oxfords for a more formal, menswear look, just as I love the cutesy, springtime vibe a gal can get from wearing lighter denims with a pair of wedge heels and a big, floppy hat. For the time being, i’d ixnay on the boots…don’t want to look like cowboy, now do we?
