- Beyoncé posted a super sweet letter she wrote — by hand, no less —  to fellow HBIC Michelle Obama on her Tumblr in which she praised the FLOTUS for her grace, humility and sincerity. And she ended it with a smiley face period, just like Barack Obama does in his letters to Congress. [Refinery29]

- The Twitter accounts of several models, including Joan Smalls, Lily Donaldson and Jourdan Dunn were hacked yesterday when they apparently started hawking diet pills. Like models ever admit to taking diet pills. [Fashionista]

- Another one of the hacked models was Toni Garrn, but on the bright side, she’s now officially a Victoria’s Secret Angel. So she might actually need those diet pills since those ladies get cray cray around show time. [Modelinia]

- Noted crybaby bad boy Axl Rose tried to refuse his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with his fellow Guns & Roses but the Hall of Fame really doesn’t give a fuck. [Paper]

- Unsurprisingly, everyone and their mother has something to say about Raf Simons’ appointment to Dior. But it’s mostly positive — even from professional curmudgeon Cathy Horyn — which is actually surprising. [The Cut]

These boards certainly give a new meaning to the “pop shove it” (I don’t know what that is, but Wikipedia says it’s skateboard lingo).

This gold dress, originally worn by Anja Rubik in Balmain’s fall 2010 show, has landed six major covers–and it’s graced some more fabulous supermodel bodies. Claudia Schiffer dons it for Zeit‘s 40th anniversary issue, Natalia Vodianova gets her turn on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK for December, Cindy Crawford takes it to Vogue India October 2010…then Abbey Lee for German Vogue in August, Toni Garrn on Spanish Vogue‘s November cover, and it finally lands on Anna Dello Russo for the new fall issue of 10. (Not a model, but hey, she’s got the bod.)

Either we’ve got déjà vu, or this Balmain sparkler is theeee dress of choice for those blessed with supermodel height and a tiny waist. So which of these hot, skinny broads rocked it best?

Model Toni Garrn posed for Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott in a new makeup campaign. The ads are for Shiseido Cle de Peau, which is soon to release their upcoming fall ’09 look.

I have been so into the western/southern rock/down and dirty fashion lately. I love the contradiction between model Toni Garrn’s look and the rugged background she’s being photographed in. The leather pieces look fantastic; I’m hardcore digging the fringed leather gloves. Greg Kadel did a great job of bringing the desert to life in this spread. Looks like the fringe boots will be glued to my feet yet again this week.

The newest Chloe ad campaign for Spring 09 features two forest green garments that, to my surprise, actually work well. Models Toni Garrn and Anna Maria Jagodzinska appear to be hiding out among some boulders while wearing really expensive outfits. I’m not really sure what’s supposed to be going on here; I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of this campaign.

Calvin Klein has been known to withhold a make or break ability when it comes to models in fashion. Recently, that capability has been tested and the model may have won. When Toni Garrn started posing in Calvin Klein for the spring ad campaign everyone was in awe. Talks of her being the next Natalia Vodianova or Kate Moss had people applauding. Soon Toni was opening the runway show with spark and closing it with a lasting impression. All seemed to be going well until 17 year old Toni was suddenly replaced by Suvi Koponen when she was demoted to Calvin Klein Jeans and Suvi stole the spotlight at the top of the label. Though it may seem as though Suvi and CK may have won this battle, regardless, Toni continues to rise to the top. She has recently posed for German Vogue, i-D, W and V. It is clear that Toni can succeed without being CK’s top face.
