Miss Britney Spears is turning the big 3-0 on December 2nd, and to celebrate the aging of the pop star that shaped a generation, her videos are going head to head – against themselves. Not since the days of TRL have we seen music video competition like this. Her 30 music videos are challenging one another to a duel, a chart of champions, a bracket to determine the best. I don’t know what this is referred to in sports terminology, but may we vote to the victory of the greatest Britney Spears videos ever made! MTV has announced that after 10 years on the air, TRL will end this November! (Above are Gossip Girl boys at the TRL studios because I don’t recognize the hosts these days).

Executive producer Dave Sirulnick suggests a future for the Times Square-based show, which will just be taking a “rest.” 

I haven’t seen the show in five years or so, but it used to be quite the cultural fixture.

No more tacky Mariah outfits, no more homemade Backstreet Boys T-shirts…
