SPREAD UM: “Alien” Kathrin Thormann for Tush by Paul Empson

Ever since the Fall 2007 Chanel show crimped hair has turned from a cruel form of torture I used to put my Barbie dolls through into something I really really want to regard as chic. You may disagree but you have to admit it looks pretty damn good on Jane from Sea of Shoes and Kathrin Thormann in this editorial. “Alien”, the name of this spread, seems like a subdued hint that I should shut up, that crimped hair is a bad idea that should stay away from planet earth. I’m choosing to ignore that hint.

SPREAD UM: Tyler Riggs, Dennis Johnson, And Tommy Cox By Nagi Saki For Tush

Makeup artist Tyron Machhausen created a cool Ziggy Stardust look for this shoot, with all of that paint and glitter. I love the gender-bending looks, and think Nagi Saki retains the guy’s masculinity throughout. I think this shoot is so cool, and would love to see the whole spread in Tush.

SPREAD UM: Kine Diouf for Tush

Armin Morbach shot Kine Diouf for this spread in Tush magazine # 15
Featuring unusual hats and toppers, the spread, “Chapeaux-a-Porter,” is straight-up fashion fun. I’m loving the different make-up looks too.
