Game Over for Ungaro and Giles Deacon

Edited by

After a sexed up year at Ungaro, Giles Deacon has amicably decided to part ways with the brand. Ungaro is ever attempting to rejuvenate the brand, re: Lindsay Lohan as artistic director back in ’09, and now they’re onto new strategies. The forthcoming show on October 3rd will be by the collective efforts of the design team. We saw how that boded for Dior, get it together Frenchies. Serve it up.

Giles Deacon Named Creative Director of UngaroEmanuel Ungaro confirmed on Tuesday that they have successfully tapped designer Giles Deacon to replace Lindsay Lohan as its new creative director. RUNWAY: Bebe/Kardashian Fall/Winter 2010

RUNWAY: Bebe/Kardashian Fall/Winter 2010

So glad I didn’t get up for this show this morning, looking at the photos this is probably on the same level of awful as the Lindsay Lohan/Ungaro collection. Do the Kardashian’s realize that we are in Fall, not Spring with their boring Old Navy worthy shorts (even in leather, which we saw last season) and J.Crew like tops. Besides denim and tee shirts, which came straight out of a Joyce Leslie store, there were equally bad dresses made for a twelve year old skank, or the likes of (again) Lohan. The only halfway decent, partly original piece was a leather corset worn over a plain jersey dress.

Entire collection here.
Thanks Cotourture for the pics.

Seems like things are starting to look bleak for Ungaro. The former fashion world favorite has made some poor decisions in the past (i.e Lindsay Lohan) and is now closing their Madison Avenue boutique. Well, one mans failure is another mans find, cause now everything in the store is 80% off until the 21st.

Here’s the location:

792 Madison Ave
New York, NY 10021

Lindsay Lohan Fired From Ungaro?

Lindsay Lohan Fired From Ungaro?

“Asim wants her out now,” a fashion insider who has seen e-mails between the two executives tells Page Six. “Department stores in the States have already told him they won’t be picking up the line if Lohan remains a collaborator, so it’s a serious issue.”
