H&M lined up these diaper darlings for their All for Children initiative with UNICEF. These clothes go on sale in 160 H&M stores worldwide, with 25% of  sales benefiting UNICEF projects to promote children’s rights to education and protection in vulnerable communities.

The clothes are adorable, particularly that orange number on the right worn by a young Karlie Kloss. But they have nothing on the Lanvin Petite clothes.

Apparently Lanvin doesn’t believe in child labor laws because these kids are at work.

Popping out of a box?! Pensively sitting in a chair?! Braced against a wall in a trench?! These kids are editorial jumping at a Teen Vogue level.

After looking at these pics, I’m tempted to adopt a child and raise her to be the next supermodel of the world. But then I realized that they don’t stay this cute forever.  One day they’re crawling in their baby heels and the next they’re flashing their crotch and getting high on salvia.

On Thursday, July 22nd at 4 p.m., players Paul Scholes, Nani, Darren Fletcher, Michael Owen, and Ryan Giggs will test out their feet.  Hublot is setting up a target in the shape of one of their watches for the footballers to strike from 51 yards out.  And a knight will be involved.  Team manager Sir Alex Ferguson will also give it a go.

The event will take place outside the Flatiron building at 23rd and Broadway, just outside Madison Square Park.  Most importantly, it’s all in the name of charity.  If the players are successful, UNICEF will be getting a cool million bucks.

So if you’re missing your footy, head on down.  It’s open to the public, there are no vuvuzelas (thank God), and it’ll be hot enough that if they hit the target you have an excuse to take your shirt off and yell “Goaaaaaaaal!”

Fashion is in a giving mood. In the wake of Gucci’s UNICEF campaign comes the news that shoe giant, in and out of heels, Jimmy Choo, has teamed up with the Elton John AIDS Foundation for Project PEP.

Choo and the EJAF teamed up in 2005 on the funding of the Simela Centre in South Africa, and Project PEP will help that organization. Twenty five per cent of net sales from the range of clutches, shoes and bags featuring a punk rock motif (when did Elton go punk?) going to the Cape Town centre which assists victims of rape.

I’m sorry, Gucci. I love your vintage handbag designs and several of your clothing collections, I can respect your legacy as a major fashion house, I crush on Tom Ford, etc. etc.

But I make it no secret in my life that I can’t stand Rihanna, musically, visually, theoretically, seriously! I wonder if she’s from the same short-haired planet Posh is from. I don’t think she has the talent to be a lasting force in the entertainment industry; and it never ceases to amaze me how people mistake million-dollar stylists and designer-gifted garb for having a fashion sense. I imagine Rihanna’s morning routine to be something like that dress-making scene in Disney’s Cinderella. Jay Z has to enlist a team of mice and birds to turn her rags into riches. She’s simply a vehicle, a blank slate with money. She has a pretty face

Anyway, I think Gucci’s first ad campaign for its collaboration with UNICEF is a mistake. Slated to hit magazines in December, the ads show Rihanna with the Tattoo Heart bags. 25 percent of sales of the limited edition bags benefit UNICEF. That’s all very noble. But when you have to use a combination of an overused, undertalented performer and combine it with Ed Hardy knockoff art… I just don’t buy it. It all senses of the word! This campaign comes off as really cheap to me and makes me wonder about the financial and ethical states of the big fashion houses. Clearly a charitable cause is not enough to move units; they need a cheap-looking, unoriginal motif, and a too-familiar celebrity face.

Rihanna has just been selected by GUCCI as the face of its new UNICEF campaign. The campaign, called “Tattoo Heart,” will offer a line of special edition GUCCI products featuring a tattoo style heart theme, with 25% of proceeds to benefit UNICEF.

Gucci creative director Frida Giannini said the fashion house selected RiRi for its first UNICEF ads because of her “strong personality,” feeling that “a musician and a beautiful woman was the perfect icon for this campaign.”

Jemima Khan (is an socialite who is recognized as Hugh Grant’s ex-girlfriend, the former wife of Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan, and one of late billionaire James Goldsmith’s eight children) is designing a capsule collection for French house Azzaro.

Seeing this I thought, what right does she have designing a line for French house Azzaro, but then I did some research:

Khan became is also a UK Ambassador for UNICEF, concentrated on advocacy efforts on children’s issues, especially global poverty. Khan recently launched Jemima Khan Ltd., a clothing company that employed poor Pakistani women to embroider western clothes with delicate eastern handiwork. These clothes were sold under the label of Jemima Khan Designs in London and New York at outlets such as Henri Bendel, Harrods, Browns and A la Mode. Khan stated that all profits were donated to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in Lahore. In 2001, due to cancellation of orders, the fashion label was closed.

Wondering if the capsule collection will also employ Pakistani women or profit charity organizations. Keep you all posted…
