This is defintiely the year of the plus size woman! Breaking Barriers, boundaries, and stereotypes, plus size fashion is on its way to becoming a respected mainstay!
Editor of Daily Venus Divas, Stephanie Danforth formed an awesome panel to represent the plus size consumer at the 2011 SXSW Festival in Austin, TX. The South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conferences & Festivals offer the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies.

History was made this past weekend when MTV crowned Gabi Gregg at their FIRST TJ (Twitter Jockey). Gabi is also the Founder of the popular blog Young, Fat and Fabulous. Not only did Gabi win the hearts of MTV viewers worldwide, but her Curvy sisters rallied behind her in record numbers.
So now we are asking you to help US continue making history as we take the 2011 South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conferences & Festivals by storm.

The inimitable Marc Jacobs….the design powerhouse. From his own highly anticipated labels to Louis Vuitton, its seems amazing that this man has time to romp the streets of SoHo or take a moment to enjoy the view from any terrace! Favored by most, Marc Jacobs has certainly put his unique stamp on the fashion world and continues to remain “fresh” and relevant in such a highly competitive arena. Hats off to the man who does everything with a certain finesse that makes it all seem quite effortless!

REDUX Blue Jeans Carpenter Work Pants
More and more artisanal denim brands are kicking off these days – REDUX Blue Jeans from Italy is the latest to come to our attention, bearing a promising first impression.
Launched by fashion industry veteran Dario Marangon, the new brand is based on Marangon’s passion for men’s denim and the tradition of workwear, and influenced by his well curated archive of rare vintage jeans combined with original dead stock and other garments, accessories, books and research collected over the years.
The idea of the REDUX project arose from the need to perpetuate the unique characteristics of jeans from the material to the manufacture. A limited production of handmade blue jeans, using Okayama mills narrow selvage denim fabric, the special nature of the project lies in the high quality and the artistic integrity of its elements with a commitment to the past. We’ll be sure to add REDUX to our brands-to-follow list – you should as well.

Topshop’s inhouse Unique Spring 2010 collection was undoubtedly a tribute the blue-collar worker. Designer Karen Bonser sent dirty denim, patches, 90′s surf-bum inspired prints and some old school rugby garb down the runway. But is it just me or do some things seem like those pre-teen, Limited Too pieces,circa 1997?
