AnOther offered four covers for F/W ‘09-10 BW were shot by Heidi Slimane, colors by Graig McDean. Honestly, the only cover that semi impressed me was Natalie Portman…I’m sorry, but Katie Holmes on the cover of a magazine? Why!

Mickey Mouse Gets A Designer Makeover fashion To celebrate Disneyland Resort Paris’s year long ‘Mickey’s Magical Party’ My Mickey Ears project has been created, which sees top famous and fashion designer faces creating Mickey Mouse ears. Vanessa Paradis, Isabella Rossellini, Giles Deacon (above), House of Holland, Luella, Estelle, PPQ, Brix Smith-Start and Daisy Lowe are just a few of the ear creators.

The designer ears are currently being auctioned and will be available for one month, you can buy a pair on buyoncegivetwice.co.uk, and all the proceeds go to Great Ormand Street Hospital Children’s Charity in order to help redevelop this incredible hospital.

Well this is nothing new, but it’s just something that my dentally conscious self noticed recently.

The Madonna divorce news has catapulted her face all over the papers and blogs once again. I’ve also noticed some similar mugs. Most notably, I took a quick glance and thought the Material Girl was on the cover of the November 2008 issue of Vogue Paris (top) for some reason.

But the above three gap-toothed lovelies are different people. Vanessa Paradis, Lara Stone, and Madonna all proudly sport the dental oddity. Whereas Gwen Stefani and Miranda Hobbes famously wore braces as adults, Vanessa, Lara, and Madge have not repaired their gaps. The imperfection is a nice contrast to their otherwise fortunate genetics.

It’s no secret that I love anything French. I also have a love affair with Johnny Depp and his lover Vanessa Paradis. So my head just about exploded when I found this editorial from French Glamour inspired by the beautiful twosome! I don’t know about you but I think this editorial is brilliant! I guess all you need to look like Johnny Deep is grungy hair, a goatee, a fedora, and some geek chic glasses. Good to know!

About a month ago I reported that Miu Miu had salvaged their image by putting Johnny’s girl Vanessa Paradis as their cover girl for their Fall campaign. Now they have put the whole photoshoot up at the Miu Miu website .

Vanessa Paradis Makes Awkward Look Good

After Miu Miu’s lack luster ad campaigns the past few seasons (*cough* Lindsay Lohan, Kristen Dunst!), they have rebounded with Vanessa Paradis. For those of you who do not know her, she is a French pop-star and actress, she is most famous however for be the mother of Johnny Depp’s kids and the envy of most women in the world. Miu Miu’s whole concept as a clothing line is awkward beauty and Vanessa Paradis embodies that. Take the spring collection that Miss Paradis is modeling it’s based on wet suits! The campaign was shot by Mert and Marcus, you can tell because the campaign looks like a Guy Bourdin photo.

This is what the corporate people at Miu Miu told WWD about the ads: “The impact and drama of the images continue the enduring dialogue of Mrs. Prada, a conversation concerning the subject of womanhood in our times. At once a deconstruction and a pure visual composition, the campaign addresses the exploration of beauty in conjunction with intellect, imagination and divergence.”

Really? All of that from one image?! Looks like this fashion brand takes themselves way too seriously! It’s a pretty image that looks like a piece of art. Nothing more. I don’t think that expensive leather bag and satin wetsuit is going to be solving the problem of sexism that women face in the work place. So lets enjoy it for what it is.
