Nicki Minaj covers the March issue of Paper Magazine in which she chit-chats with fellow sassy black girl, Ms. Simon Doonan about fame, Nicki’s new album, her idols, and the greatest human being from the greatest show of all time – Big Ang of Vh1′s Mob Wives. Doonan also asks Minaj about that moment last Fashion Week when worlds collided and minds were systematically blown: Nicki sitting next to future BFF Anna Wintour.

SD: I saw you sitting front row next to Anna Wintour at Fashion Week. Genius! Such a fabulous couple. What was going through your thoughts?

NM: Yes! I was screaming out loud inside my head. Me sitting next to the Queen of Vogue! It was such a strange experience. I felt like I was dreaming. And I thought she would be snobby or something. But she was so incredibly sweet to me.

As October is our month of models, we figured it was important for you, dear reader, to know your model heritage. After all, how can you know where your models are going, if you don’t know where they’ve been. Enter Marcus Lodewijk Schenkenberg van Mierop, better known as Marcus Schenkenberg.

Born in Stockholm, Sweden of Dutch and Indonesian descent on August 4, 1968. Schenkenberg was discovered by photog Barry King while rollerskating in Venice Beach in 1989 after which he appeared in ads for Calvin Klein, shot with the legendary Richard Avedon and strutted on catwalks for Versace, Donna Karan and Giorgio Armani. Schenkenberg has managed to survive over 20 years in the modeling game — as well as a stint on Vh1‘s precursor to Celebrity Rehab, The Surreal Life and a much-publicized affair with Pamela Anderson — rightly earning him the title as the World’s First Male Supermodel.

As a supplement to The 25 Greatest Supermodels of the Past 50 Years, Male Model Humpday celebrates the 10 gorgeous men who have risen to the top of the chiseled cheekbone heap to become that rarest of rare birds: the male supermodel. In reality, there only has been one true male supermodel and that’s Marcus Scheknenberg, who was discovered rollerskating on the beach by photographer Barry King in 1989 and has been the male model of the past 20-plus years. And most impressively, he survived a season on VH1′s hit (?) reality show, The Surreal Life and an affair with Pamela Anderson. If that’s not superhuman, I don’t know what is.

High-profile athletes have begun to brand themselves in a major way, copyrighting their names, nicknames and catchphrases, says the New York Times. This totes ruins my plan to start a line of theatrical concession stands called “Get Your Popcorn All-Ready.”

Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco legally changed his last name from Johnson in 2008 to reflect his jersey number, 85. And in another inventive stroke of genius, he opened an online store, childpleez.com, which sells T-shirts and women’s underwear featuring his various catchphrases, like “Catch Me If You Can,” “Kiss da Baby” and – get this – “Child Pleez.”

Terrell Owens has his own reality show on Vh1, in addition to his own cereal, his own children’s book and numerous guest appearances on television and in commercials. He’s already registered his catchphrase “I Love Me Some Me,” and is seeking trademarks for “Get Your Popcorn Ready” and a logo with his initials.

I, shockingly, know nothing about sports, but I do know a lot about celebrity. T.O. and Ochocinco are taking advantage of their fame by turning themselves into brands and sure their catchphrases sound idiotic and all kinds of gay, but hey, they’ll be laughing all the way to the bank.

While I’m crying into my empty sequined clutch purse.

Hmm good timing Covergirl, now is the perfect time for Rihanna to be doing commercials for eye makeup. Because blogging allows me the great opportunity to make money while I sit my ass on the couch and watch TV, I was able to catch this commercial for the first time while watching VH1 today. I laughed and laughed out loud by myself (of course), and then proceed to live the good life. Oh Rihanna, it’s a shame that your misfortune will be the butt end of all jokes for the next couple months atleast, maybe you’ll think twice about spreading the clap.

So while we are all still on the emotional high that is VH1 specials, I would like to bring to light another duo that aided in the rise of the hipster nation, Soft Cell. Who is Soft Cell you ask? Have you heard of a little song called “Tainted Love”? Yeah that’s all them, and might I say that Marc Almond, the keyboard laden duo’s lead singer, had the art of being a hipster down to an art.
