Karlie may be following in the strides of other model-turned-actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and is eschewing the catwalk for the film studio.

- Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s a beauty contract. While the runway pays well for girls of Karlie’s stature, a beauty campaign can set a model on the catwalk to Easy Street for the rest of her life. Since snagging Estée Lauder, when’s the last time you saw Hilary Rhoda walk a show?

- Karlie Kloss, new creative director at Christian Dior. This may be a bit of a stretch, but the house does love them some Kloss. She hasn’t missed a step in a single Dior show — from couture to resort — in years and Bernard Arnault might want to just keep her around.

- Strike a pose, there’s nothing to it. As everyone knows, models making the cover of Vogue is as rare as a viable Republican candidate for the presidency. So what better reason to cancel on Fashion Week than to jet off to Paris for an exclusive shoot with Mario Testino for a star-making cover?

- Karlie Kloss DiCaprio. After she walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Leonardo DiCaprio was reportedly smitten with the leggy Ms. Kloss. He’s landed Gisele and Bar Refaeli, why not add the newest bright young thing to his collection of catwalkers?

The collection was produced in-house and features bras, panties, garter belts, baby dolls, teddies, a kimono and a merry widow corset, retailing from $98 to $298. Some were seen on the runway during the VS Fashion Show back in November, sprinkled in among the regular underthings. Chief creative officer Christopher Bailey and co. fired off a series of “Thank-yous” after hitting the milestone, which served as yet another technical triumph for the iconic label. In October, Burberry was ranked as the most digitally-competent brand with the highest digital IQ in an index created by NYU’s think tank, L2 Luxury Lab. And while there are other fashion brands with more Facebook friends — Victoria’s Secret has over 16 million and Converse over 21 million — they’re not trying to sell you a $1400 bag anytime soon. 3. Karlie is not anorexic but actually quite muscular. Franca then goes off on a tangent about Kloss’ “buttocks” and supports Kloss’ healthy body with her status as a Victoria’s Secret model.

4. Sozzani, ironically, wanted to avoid a senseless debate because she is “aware of the fact that people can easily attach labels without thinking.” She then goes on to admit: “I made a mistake. I had to do what I thought was right, that is leave the picture and let everybody express their opinion freely. The picture is beautiful and that’s all.”

5.  The editrix is a staunch advocate against pro-anorexia websites but instead of giving up on “experimental” photos such as this, she’d rather offer a course educating people about the history of photography.

6.  Next time, just say it to her goddamn face: “Before talking, why not just ask? I would have answered your doubts before, without causing so many pointless remarks.”

Karlie, for her part, didn’t understand the controversy at all. She thought the photos were beautiful and was very proud and happy with the way the shoot turned out.

Creole for “my home,” LakayPAM was founded in 2006 by Cedrick Roche, his wife Carolina Bittencourt and Mathias Youbi to help provide poor children with food, shelter, medical care, education and other basic needs.  Interacting with the Haitian kids, however, one would scarcely know they face such adversity on a daily basis.

“It was almost as if they didn’t know something happened,” Coco said. “They’ve gone through so much that it gave the entire experience a real hope. Even when we had the cameras. The adults did not want cameras in their faces – I could understand that — in the beginning, when there was so much, they thought ‘We’re going to be saved!’ And nothing happened.  When we came with our cameras, they did not want that. But the kids were like, ‘Yeah! Let’s do it! I’m a model!’ There were at least three or four kids I wanted to take home with me. I’ll be the new Angelina!”

For all involved, the time spent in Haiti clearly made a lasting impression — both Coco and James and Cedrick and Carolina plan on visiting later this month, while after the film screening I couldn’t help but notice Behati overcome with tears. Her photos were a testament to the spirit of the trip and displayed that the model is just as proficient behind the camera as she is in front of it. While this was her first exhibit – a major accomplishment she ranks alongside strolling the VS runway – photography is something she will do long after she hangs up her wings.

Letters to Haiti was an incredibly moving event that at least inspired one young super in the audience. Karlie Kloss couldn’t wait to get involved, but Haiti will have to wait till at least the New Year – first she has to head back to St. Louis for the holidays.

This is Kloss’ eighth international Vogue cover, though she has yet to score that grand daddy of covers — American Vogue. However, the S.S. Karlie is blasting into outer-space considering her recent strut down the Victoria’s Secret runway.

And then there’s the guaranteed seal of supermodel approval – the not-at-all-creepy attentions of noted supermodelizer Leonardo DiCaprio.  Come 2012 — mark my words —  Anna Wintour will render her in some disappointing cover story shot by default photogs, Mario Testino or Annie Leibovitz.

From there, next stop: world domination.

Chanel Iman told Modelinia she tries to gain weight before a show. “I have a big potluck at my house. All my friends bring over food and we barbecue and party it up!”

Holler girl. What about Lima’s intense regimen? Six weeks before a show, she works out twice a day and eats only lean protein and green vegetables with an occasional protein shake or cereal bar for a snack. Nine days before, she goes on an all-liquid diet, replacing real food with protein shakes. Then a mere 12 hours before a show, she stops drinking all liquids completely, including water.

What’s your favorite thing to do when you’ve got lots and lots of time on your hands?

“[whispers] Oh that’s a nice one. I love to travel, but I really love to hang out with my Grandaughters downstairs. I’m on 10, they’re on 5. It’s not too difficult to find time when I’m done with my coffee. We are on another roll I tell you! I’m doing a lot of appearances. I’m on the road doing promotions or opening new stores. It’s a very busy time now, but I love it. I heard a great quote on the radio the other day; Mark Twain said, ’Make your vacation your vocation.’ Is that interesting? Or make your vocation your vacation. That’s a little harder to to. I felt, Old Marky and I, he must have been overworked. He must have been a workaholic. But I love what I’m doing.”

Your daughter, Lulu, werqed it on the runway last week. Is she pursuing modeling, or is that walk just for you?

“No, no, no, the show inspiration was of a voluptuous figure, which Lulu has always had and stood for. Last time she was on the runway was in 2000 when I did a show with the Playboy Bunnies. She was the best on that runway. She knows how to do [cups her hands a few inches from her breasts, gives a hunch]… She would never dream of modeling, she would have to loose 2/3 of her body weight. I dont know, maybe Victoria’s Secret? All the Victoria’s Secret models come off of my runway, because I let them be sexy, you know, flaunt it. And sure enough it’s easy to get them, then they’re scooped up by Victoria and you can’t get them anymore.”

What do your new timepieces tell us about you?

“What I love is that they always have stuff for young, my granddaughter sometimes. A skull with a bow in this watch. They go from kitty to grandma. From classic to cute. Twinkly to chic. I dont know, anyway. They’re great, beautifully made. Great weight, which is very important to me in a watch. I had lots of fun doing it, great company. I just really love them. The numbers are big, they have a real weight to them…I mean Frankie has me down. Frank, he owns the company… Frankie what’s your last name?”

- Australian retailers are now charging shoppers as much as $50 to try on clothes in an effort to cut back on people buying discounted fashions online after perfecting the fit in-store. The fee is refundable, however, should patrons decide to buy the article of clothing. Personally, I never try on clothes, mostly because I’m lazy. If I get home and something is too big I’ll call it “oversized” and if it’s too small, I call it an “aspirational piece.” I also love finding reasons to not eat, which I call “going on a diet.” [Daily Mail]

- Riccardo Tisci is still the front-runner to replace John Galliano at Dior, but his name is being bandied about with the likes of Olivier Theyskens, Tom Ford, Hedi Slimane, Nicolas Ghesquière, Alber Elbaz, Sarah Burton, Haider Ackermann and Prabal Gurung. Tisci has reportedly already sketched out his vision for the brand and has a supporter in Delphine Arnault, Bernard’s daughter and Dior’s deputy managing director. However, Bernard Arnault‘s eyeing the Royal Wedding, hoping to align Dior with the young couple; so if Burton catches Kate Middleton‘s sartorial bouquet she could be next on the list. The Camisole: The camisole is one if the most basic pieces to your spring gym wardrobe. It should be fitted enough to show your body but not too tight because you still have to workout. It’s best to pick one out in a neutral color so you can transition them into your regular wardrobe when you aren’t in the gym. This Under Armour Camisole is great because it absorbs moisture and has a built in bra.

The Sports Bra: Nothing else says you are more comfortable with your body than wearing just a sports bra around the gym. Get a bold color to make the statement and stay in rend with this seasons brighter look. GAP offer this stretch knit sports bra. You’ve worked hard for that flat tummy so why not show it off.

Yoga Pants: Yoga pants can easily look boring and bad at the gym. You can add a little something to the dullness of the pants by buying them with a printed waistband. Victoria’s Secret PINK collection has you covered for any print that you can think up.

The Shorts: It’s always great to show a little leg no matter where you are. A pair of printed shorts adds personality to you workout outfit and look way more sophisticated than the regular Sofee short. Make sure you are comfortable with the cut of the short and remember you are at the gym and not a stripclub. No one really wants to see your buttcheeks. ROXY is known for there cute prints and their Athletix line offers these great shorts

The Shoes: Some people think that shoes aren’t that important in a workout: Wrong! They are extremely important to the training you want to do and they can make or break your outfit. Stephanie Seymour (July 23, 1968) As a muse for the late Richard Avedon, Stephanie Seymour created some of the best fashion photographs of the 90s, then upped the iconic ante when she strolled down the aisle as Axl Rose‘s bride (the two were dating at the time) in Guns and Roses‘ classic “November Rain” video. Though supermodels appearing in music videos was nothing new in 1992, very few looked as perfect as Seymour in that epic wedding dress. Perhaps a little too rock & roll for a royal wedding, but I would at least consider it, Kate Middleton.

Claudia Schiffer (Aug. 25, 1970) Reminiscent of a young Bridget Bardot, Claudia Schiffer’s sultry good looks catapulted her to supermodeldom in the early 90s. Though she made a comeback in a series of gorgeous ads for Salvatore Ferragamo in 2007, don’t expect to see Schiffer on a runway anytime soon; the German stunner maintains that she’s “very shy.” I’m the same way until I get a little liquor in me, hence, we just need to booze up Claudia and throw her — heels first — onto that catwalk. ASAP.

Heidi Klum (June 1, 1973) The ultimate Victoria’s Secret Angel, Klum hung up her wings for good in 2010 to focus on her thriving businesses: in addition to producing the Peabody Award-winning Project Runway (yeah, Heidi Klum has a Peabody), Klum has tried her hand at design, acting, painting not to mention re-populating the world with the help of her virile husband Seal…seriously, Heidi’s been pregnant nonstop for like the past ten years. I’m just going to say it, someone needs to separate those two.

Kate Moss (Jan. 16 1974) The kittenish face of “Heroin Chic,” Kate Moss’ arrival in 1990 sparked a sweeping change in the world of modeling. The glamazons of the 80s and early 90s now seemed outdated compared to the 5’7 Moss when she appeared in The Face magazine, shot by the late Corrine Day. Notoriously private — she rarely gives interviews — Kate Moss is still the most ubiquitous face in modeling of the past twenty years. As a regular in ad campaigns and a favorite muse for many photographers, Moss also practically owns the cover of British Vogue. Despite her amazing career, Kate has had her share of ups and downs…both fueled heavily by cocaine.

Tyra Banks (Dec. 4, 1973) Tyra Banks started off a rail-thin high fashion model before morphing into a voluptuous swimsuit cover girl, then a Victoria’s Secret Angel, then a fat-ass Emmy-winning talk show host and the professional smizer/creator of the now international Top Model series; in short, she is the ultimate model as mogul. And while I and a generation of other girls have learned everything we know about modeling from Ms. Banks (admittedly it took me a while to figure out how to find my light), she still has a few tricks up her sleeve (or in this case, turban), such as this shot from Vogue Italia’s iconic “Black Issue.”

Gisele (July 20, 1980) The last of the true supermodels, Gisele came along during the wave of Brazilian bombshells in the late 90s. With her athletic body and distinctive horse trot, she’s stayed at the top of the model heap for the past ten years, earning the one-name recognition to which all supers are entitled. Though there are several heirs to the throne (Karlie Kloss, Chanel Iman, Coco Rocha, Hilary Rhoda, Agyness Deyn, Anja Rubik, Jessica Stam, the list goes on and on…), the queen is not abdicating anytime soon.

“We have been selling prom dresses since 1969,” Jon Liney, Dress Goddess company president, said in a release. “Starting in January of each year, our customers search for the most unique prom dress ever created. The $13,997 prom dress delivers exactly this…exclusive one of a kind extravagance. Victoria’s Secret has their $2,000,000 bra and now Dress Goddess has the $13,997 prom dress.”

A little ridiculous? Maybe. For $14,000, I want to see something seriously unique and out of this world. But if you like the dress and don’t have that money to burn, you can buy the non-diamond version for $398.

Josh Linam: Mercedes Benz is such a cool company. What do you think of Mercedes-Benz as a brand?

Karolina Kurkova: Well it’s a very classic, timeless brand. It’s innovative. They always have the safest cars. It’s luxurious but subtle without being too flashy. And I think it’s wonderful that they’re creating this event and supporting all these different fashion shows around the world where people can show their work.

Yes, actually that leads into my next question – what does it mean for Mercedes-Benz to sponsor Fashion Week, which is the epicenter for all things stylish?

I think it’s a great collaboration. Mercedes-Benz is very stylish and modern; it’s innovative, and it’s luxury. And it goes very well with fashion. It’s about trends, the newest and best things. Also, Mercedes-Benz is a lifestyle brand. It’s just not about the cars – it’s what they represent. You’ll see a lot of people who are a part of fashion week, designers, models and celebrities driving the cars.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week incorporates some of the best technology around. How do you see technology changing fashion?

I’m always amazed how technology is pushing the envelope and how it’s changing so quickly. You can see everything online right away. The things that are happening simultaneously, everyone can see it. I have a fan page on Facebook. It’s amazing how quick things happen. It’s so instant!

Are there any drawbacks about technology becoming such a part of fashion?

Sometimes there’s not that mystery or surprise or privacy. Almost everything is out there. People want everything right away. Maybe it’s not the greatest for the young generation who spends so much time online. They get so much into that world, and there’s so much more to see outside the Internet.

What are your favorite fashion Web sites or blogs to check out?

Well I just got to meet this guy, Bryan Boy. He’s so crazy, but he’s very sweet, very real and so true to his roots. He’s from the Phillipines, and he still goes back there. He’s very trendy and he’s a big fashionista, but he’s not affected by it. He’s still a true, real person, and I can feel that. I think he’s fun, and I like his style.

Last question for you. What’s your favorite thing to wear on a night out?

Well, I don’t have just one look. I’m someone who dresses by mood, by the weather and by where I am, my location. It could be from jeans to boots to a t-shirt and leather jacket to a beautiful Hervé Leger or Azzadine Alaïa dress with flats or high heels. So I’m really someone who dresses by where I am. It’s got to be comfortable, look effortless and classic, and have a personality.

Karolina’s newest, sizzling spread for Mercedes-Benz:

One obvious reason Karolina Kurkova has seen such success in modeling – she is outrageously beautiful. However, some may not know the real reason people love working with Karolina. The supermodel beams with positivity, and she is perhaps even a little bit of a jokester.

So, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Karolina turned the tables on me in our interview. Right from the start she humorously tried to throw me off with a big smile on her face. (Clearly, it worked.)

Karolina Kurkova: Wow, you’re so handsome. So are you dating anybody?

Josh Linam: Well, I’m kind of new to New York City.

So you’re looking for the right people? Call me. I can help. Ohh, I can help.

Wow, thank you; that would be amazing! So I’m from Fashion Indie, and I just had some questions for you.

So wait, you’re saying you’re new to New York. Where were you before?

I was in Texas.

In Texas? You lived and blogged about fashion in Texas?

Actually I lived in Texas, but I was writing a different project. So yeah, I just moved and I’m pretty new to New York fashion.

So this is kind of your first, big fashion week?

This is the first!

So is it a little overwhelming for you?

It’s new. Everything’s new. Overwhelming a little, as far as the shows and the partying I think.

And the tent. Isn’t it beautiful how it’s done? It’s not just going from show to show. It’s almost like a creative space where people can work and talk and see shows and connect.

It seriously is amazing how they can transform it into such a functional space. I love Lincoln Center!
