Shearling and leather and dragons, oh my. Staying on trend with many other Fall 2012 collections we’ve seen, Vivienne Tam used rich colors like burnt orange, eggplant and forest green to meld ethnic prints with sleek tailoring. Mongolian fur collars topped wool coats worn over skirts and pants of lustrous fabrics. Lace dresses were paired with wool trousers for daytime-chic outfits that could carry into the night. For the working girl who doesn’t want to compromise her free, ethereal sense of style, Tam’s collection will have the boho-pros lining up around the block.

Color palette: Lustrous blues with deep eggplant, forest and orange
Mood: Exotic and free
Statement Pieces: Oval jacquard coat with Mongolian fur collar, Multi-color Mongolian zip front coat, One-shoulder with cloud appliqué evening dress
Front Row Name Drops: I didn’t recognize anyone of note
Gossip: Nothing interesting
Runway Music: The shapes of the collection were so interesting, I didn’t even stop to listen.

Bring back the 90's with these retro styled headphones.

These don't have crazy embellishments just the Prada stamp of approval on the sides.

These aren't are design centric as her first but she still reminds you that these bad boys have a little Gaga edge.

Definitely not for the shy.

Although terribly crowded, Tam’s Mercer Street boutique was the perfect location for her presentation, giving press, buyers and friends the opportunity to see her immaculate craftsmanship and detailing up close. As a girly-girl herself, Tam’s collection consisted of all feminine pieces. From silk chiffon dresses, to pleated skirts and ponti blouses to quilted coats, Tam’s pieces were covered with the brushstroke calligraphy symbol and seemed more like walking art than ready-to-wear items. I doubt items this intricate will make it, carbon copy, into stores, but if they do, I call dibs on the calligraphy applique coat!

Vivienne Tam and Hewlett-Packard today are unveiling what might be the first laptop computer designed for women.

The HP Mini Vivienne Tam Edition, which costs $700, is small, lightweight and colorful. Its red and pink peony injected plastic print exterior matches Tam’s spring clothing, and it will be sold at the Vivienne Tam store in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood in the spring. In the meantime, it is available for pre-order through HP, and will ship in early December. A plain version in black, pink or silver will also be available in November.

The laptop weighs two pounds, has an almost full-size keyboard (92 percent) with a red inside.

This isn’t the first time a top American designer has collaborated on a PC; previously, Vera Wang designed skins for HP laptops.

To celebrate the venture, Tam will host a party at her Mercer Street store on September 9, following her Spring 2009 show at Bryant Park.

Next up, Marc Jacobs and Apple, or was that wishful thinking?
