title="And the Naomi Goes to…: FashionIndie’s 1st Annual Model Citizen Awards" href="http://fashionindie.com/and-the-naomi-goes-to-fashionindies-1st-annual-model-citizen-awards/">Model Citizen Awards, we found a real live model citizen in the rough slums of Brazil. One tough bid, Silvinha Oliveira found her way out, worked her way through fashion school, turned away her nose up at the frivolity of high fashion’s industry and, instead, brought it back to the favelas to flourish. Upon imparting her sartorial knowledge to a few women in the community, she was able to start her own company: Retalhos Cariocas. She takes scraps of factories’ leftover fabrics and uses them to transform the country’s ubiquitous Havaianas into gladiators, booties, wrap shoes and more. All at once, Silvinha is giving fabric andher neighbors a second chance at life.<span

Beauty inspires me, so naturally, I was drawn to fashion models. <img

John R. Neill who illustrated a lot of the Land of Oz stories. Also Pauline Baynes. She was friends with C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien and illustrated The Chronicles of Narnia and The Lord of the Rings. She was actually a map maker by trade.
<p

But I love living here!

Lucas: How did you come up with your blog name Igor + Andre?

Danny: Actually, I haven’t really said why it’s called that yet. It’s named after a project I’ve been planning for the last few years, but it’s not ready yet. Sorry about that.

Lucas: In the fashion industry who would you love to work with?

Danny: Actually, it breaks my heart, but truly the one person I always wanted to collaborate with in my life was Lee Alexander McQueen. But also, I would love to collaborate with Karl Lagerfeld.
<p
