Decked in delicately jeweled and lace garments, Crystal Renn (Ford Models) stars in Vogue Japan‘s editorial “Under the Twilight Sky” from the June 2012 issue. Shot by Camilla Akrans, Renn tells a tale of romance and intrigue in looks from designers like Dolce and Gabanna, Hakaan, Balmain and Yves Saint Laurent styled by fashion editor Sissy Vian. Scarlet red lips against a natural face accented with strong brows by MUA Sil Bruinsma (Streeters) along with a retro hairstyle, reminiscent of Betty Paige, by stylist Alain Pichon (Streeters) are the perfect touches to each mystifying look.

I’m experiencing several strange emotions when I look at this Max Kibardin creation. I’m tickled pink and yet afraid to touch. The studs (rhinestones?) raise a brow, but the sea-creature-like tines spike my interest.

Ultimately, I’d like to wear these in Miami. Right now. But as I can’t do that, I’ll just have to look swimmingly at them on Saskia de Brauw in them as shot and styled by Patrick Demarchelier and Lori Goldstein in Vogue Japan May 2012.

Or I could just get another one of Max Kibardin‘s wicked heels at Saks.com.

Anna Dello Russo‘s closet must be a mystical, magical place. Always seen in a different ultra luxe runway look, she simply never repeats an outfit. While the Editor-at-Large of Vogue Japan is a bona fide style icon all day every day, she steps it up for Fashion Week with some personal rules. One being, “Nothing succeeds like excess.” The Coveteur invaded her closet post-Paris Fashion Week to talk tips (it’s well more than being excessive) on being exceptionally chic from a suitcase through four cities in one month. They (and we, in turn) get a little insight into Anna Dello Russo’s life, wardrobe and soul.

Aline Weber Rocks Out with Her Couture Out in Vogue Japan

Just one look at Aline Weber in “The Girl Who Rocks the Planet” from the latest issue of Vogue Nippon and it’s immediately evident who styled it. Living Bratz doll Anna Dello Russo has her kooky claw prints all over this editorial, shot by Giampaolo Sgura in arcades and on the streets of Tokyo. The lion heads, the Balmain, the Cavalli, the Versace, the statemenet eyewear and headgear — disco ball motorcycle helmet anyone? — it all speaks to Dello Russo’s fashion-is-fun/more-is-more aesthetic as well as her own personal style. I mean, I’ve feel like I’ve seen the lady herself in a number of these looks, or at least will in the near future. Take a saunter with Aline through the land that Hello Kitty built in “The Girl Who Rocks the Planet.”

With lips ranging the color of rainbow, Hailey Clauson gives some serious face and “Candy Kisses” in the February 2012 issue of Vogue Japan. Photographed by Liz Collins, pink, orange and purple pouts by Sam Bryant evoke the slight warmth of spring, complementing the pastel wardrobe by stylist Jonathan Kaye. Messy colored locks by Tina Outen look as though dyed by a damp piece of children’s sidewalk chalk. Maybe I was onto something with my Barbie dolls. Gallery after the jump.

To paraphrase the immortal Miss Vida Bohemme, I think today is a “say something hat” day. Lori Goldstein outfits the always impeccably fierce Crystal Renn in a plethora of statement-making headgear for Vogue Nippon‘s “A Call for Camp,” photographed by Nathaniel Goldberg.

Accounting-firm-in-waiting, Goldstein and Goldberg, called for camp so Crystal picked up the phone, took a detailed message and showed up ready to werq. The result is a fun, vibrant story to which any drag queen would give her proverbial snaps.

Raquel Zimmerman bleached her hair, this beach shoot looks to be very interesting. I’m really confused about what is going on around her ears, and it seems odd to have such a dirty looking beach, complete with seagulls, for a high fashion photo shoot. But hey, I’m not Mert Alas or Marcus Piggott, and I’m sure the shoot with be gorgeous in next month’s Vogue Japan. That dress is awesome.
