- Daphne Guinness on first meeting Alexander McQueen: “I admired him and didn’t want to meet him because I am quite shy, but Isabella [Blow] said I must. But I didn’t want to be a groupie. One day he saw me walking across the street in his kimono and he ran up to me and said, ‘I’m the person you don’t want to meet!’ We went to a pub and hit it off. -  Models Agyness Deyn and David Gandy and designer Henry Holland ran the London Marathon on Sunday. Holland shut it down with a time of 3h 28m — maybe his running gear had something to do with it. Gandy came in with a time of 4h  35m and Aggy in 4h 45m, despite bad knees from a skiing accident and running in 5-inch heels, respectively. [Vogue UK]

- Jason Wu clearly needs to get into the prom dress business. After dressing Karlie Kloss in 2009, the designer outfitted junior super Lindsey Wixon for the prom over the weekend. That certainly beats the tacky one-shouldered hoochiewear teenagers wear nowadays that often lead to 18 years of “Nights to Remember.” [Stylecaster]

- The bride wore Givenchy. Natasha Poly married her fiancé in Saint Tropez with the aid of Riccardo Tisci‘s elegant tailoring, a natural choice for the Givenchy regular. Poly looked gorgeous and her new husband…clearly has a lot of money. What? Love may be blind, but I’m not. [Modelina]

- Sister Act on Broadway means two things: 1.) Me front-row screaming “His Eye Is on the Sparrow” and 2.) 7,000 Swarovski crystals running through 23 of the show’s costumes. Patina Miller will don the sparkling habit when she makes her Broadway debut as Deloris Van Cartier, the role originated by EGOT-er and professional grumpygoose, Whoops Goldberg. [Racked]

- Lady Gaga‘s newest single “Judas” leaked on the internet and The Catholic League is already up on the cross about it. The song will be officially released tomorrow, the 19th and the accompanying video will feature Gaga portraying Mary Magdalene. The League had harsh words for the hitmaker, calling her “irrelevant” and “boring.” Meanwhile, pot meet kettle. [Hollywood Life]

After we posted the last spread, I noticed that the title of the post was misspelled. The word ‘privilege‘ is spelled WITHOUT a ‘d’, but they included one and I’m wondering how Vogue Nippon could have made such a spelling error. Do you think the magazine needs a better spell checker or are they just hoping we wouldn’t notice? For all the asshole commentors who like to point out our own flawed grammar take note. Even Vogue makes mistakes!

80′s inspired styling and a lack of eyebrows seem to be two clues that an editorial is from 2009.  This Vogue Nippon spread has those two prerequisites, but thankfully brings something new too the table: endless buff boys and a gorgeous ocean location. Edita plays a cougar-like role here with the mature styling and the multitude of young, buff boys chasing her around.

This beauty edit is more of an accessories edit, and I’m loving it. All too often stand out accessories blend in due to full body shots and overpowering clothing. Here the focus remains exactly where it should: on the hats, headbands, jewelry and colorful eye-makeup.

This triple collaboration has resulted in a pretty damn cool t-shirt. The proceeds go to help out AIDS patients, which is seen in the print that is on the shirt. The website to buy it from is in another language, but I’m sur eyou can figure it out. Purchase it here from Bobos Shop.

Kate Moss is set to cover Vogue Nippon July ’09.  I think she’s looking good here, the short hair is a good look for her, although I am not a huge fan of orange lipstick.

For “The Natural,” a spread in the May 2009 issue of Vogue Nippon, stylist Charlotte Stockdale worked within a world of juxtaposition.

Emma Summerton photographed Eniko Mihalik in wild dirty hair with structured dresses and clean tulle, and shiny bare skin against a background of white drapery and wood.

Bronzed skin, highlighter, gold eyeshadow, and shimmery nude lips are what makes Anja so gorgeous in this spread, not that she needs any of it. Shot by Nathaniel Goldberg, this spread features what’s hot in beauty: smokey eyes and golden skin.

Camilla Akrans shot Devon Aoki for this sexy spread in the June 2009 issue of Vogue Nippon. Devon plays up her cat ears accessory so well, the fact that the Alexander Wang mesh dress is still in rotation flies right under the radar.

Love this spread, the styling of the clothes is incredible. I also adore the colors, the metallics mixed with the black and white, and the shapes are breathtaking…the bubble skirt, the shoulder pads!

Vogue Nippon hasn’t once disappointed me this year. I love the tone of this spread shot by Mark Segal for the magazine’s March 09 issue. Weber’s hair looks amazing, and she wears the clothes quite well. And I’m all about that little moped she’s rocking.

When supermodel Mariacarla Boscono models for photographer Camilla Akrans, you know something great is going to come from it. This spread for the March issue of Vogue Nippon has luxurious Italian palazzo written all over it. All of her dresses say something different, from conservative beauty to disco superstar. I think these two should work together more often; the results are fantastic.

I absolutely adore this look from the Louis Vuitton Spring 09 runway. One outfit styled two different ways for two different magazine covers is quite interesting. Julia Dunstall for the Febuary 09 issue of L’Occiciel is wearing the more understated version; solely the outfit sans accessories. Simple makeup and hair prove this look can stand on its own. Anna Selezneva for the Febuary 09 issue of Vogue Nippon looks like she walked right off the runway. Multiple necklaces and heavy bangles accessorize the look without making it seem cluttered. Damn I need this outfit!

Oh how I long for summer. This ultra-steamy spread by photographer Solve Sundsbo for Vogue Nippon makes me want to jet off to South America. The colors of the garments are so phenomenal, I actually don’t feel as cold as I did five minutes ago. Model Freja Beha knows how to make sweaty look sexy. Maybe I should take some notes for summer’s 95 degree subway rides.

Liya Kebede looks like an African queen in these gorgeous pictures shot by Daniel Jackson for the February issue of Vogue Nippon. I’m in love with the crazy, high-necked cat suit with the gold cuffs. Totally wish I could pull it off walking around the neighborhood.
