I mentioned yesterday that I miss the age of the supermodel, and today Vogue UK has a tribute to one of the greats: Claudia Schiffer.

“The Lady Who Fell To Earth” suggests a surrealist and alien invader vibe, and this editorial does not disappoint. Complete with a UFO, out of this world wigs and a surreal wardrobe Kinga Rajzak is an effortless creature from another land.

Joining Karolina Kurkova on the knocked-up models list is 18-year-old beauty Jourdan Dunn. Confirmed by Vogue UK, Dunn is almost six months pregnant with her boyfriend of several years’ baby. Despite the claims that Dunn will continue modeling after giving birth, I’ve got a feeling that this barely legal lady’s career is over. Sorry Dunn, but swollen boobs and post-pregnancy chub don’t quite cut it in the modeling world. But hey, if you can somehow manage to regain your beautiful physique in a healthy way, all the power to you!

If I haven’t stated it before, let me state it now. I totally heart Dree Hemingway. She is by far my favorite celebrity spawn, coming from the loin of the greatest man in history, Earnest Hemmingway (he was her grandpa).

I’m starting to realize that I like old spreads better then current ones…maybe because we are sucked into everything ‘vintage’ or maybe because I just like them.

I love the above spread, there is something so fresh about it, so uncohesive yet beautiful…

“My agency thought that I might never do shows, because I was a bit shorter and not skinny enough,” Vodianova revealed of her early career. “But what happened was; when I gave birth to my first son I was 19, so I lost a lot of weight. I guess the stress on the body was extreme and I suddenly just turned into this stick — just the way designers love models — and after Lucas was born that’s when my career took off. I opened a lot of shows on the runway and that’s where stars are made in my industry.”

Vogue UK wants you to think so, in their June “Show and Tell” spread.

Guinevere van Seenus posed for Paolo Roversi in this burlesque-inspired spread, full of American Apparel, Agent Provocateur, Armani, and lots of sequins.

Beth Ditto has been transformed into a limited-edition doll that will promote her upcoming clothing line for the British plus-sized clothing chain Evans. “Ditto’s curves have been translated into pint-sized proportions,” says Vogue UK in its writeup of the doll. Surprisingly, that is possible!

Famously green supermodel Angela Lindvall takes some wild looks for Vogue UK shot by Mario Testino.

The rest of Claudia Schiffer’s shoot for the April 2009 issue of Vogue UK has been released.

Wearing Versace on the (kind of boring) cover, Claudia has a more interesting spread inside, with an Hermes poncho, black Louis Vuitton dress, and of course the Balmain military vest.

Shot by Patrick Demarchelier for the April 2009 issue of Vogue UK, Claudia Schiffer is still going strong at 38.

The cover isn’t that interesting (April = Spring = pink!), but this shot is hot. Schiffer is wearing a Lowew pilot cap and ripped Balmain jeans.

I am obsessed with this spread in the March issue of Vogue UK. Aggy Deyn looks amazing in acidic colors and red lipstick. Her hair looks fabulous, and she can do no wrong in these outfits. I always think Aggy is soooo overrated, but she definitely lived up to her name in this spread. I don’t know if Demarchelier or the stylist is responsible, but it was a magnificent 3-team effort here.

Lily Donaldson makes her outfits come alive in the spread “Fringe Festival” shot by Nick Knight for Vogue UK. I love that everything in the photos seems to be in motion; her dresses, hair and limbs are flying around in midair giving the illusion of extreme movement. My favorite dresses are most definitely the last two; she slightly reminds me of Big Bird in the second photo.
