W Magazine Caught In Major Drama Over Anja/Demi Head Exchange

Does this photo look familiar? It should, cause it’s nearly exact to the Demi Moore cover of W magazine. Wait, not NEARLY exact. IT IS EXACT!!!
W Mag Greatly Affected By Recession

First, there were rumors that W Mag might only have 6 issues a year, now layoff have hit. Features director James Reginato has left the magazine after working there since the early nineties. More layoffs are expected next week.

SPREAD UM: “Sunday at the Park” Mert & Marcus for W Magazine September ‘09

Lara Stone, Edita Vikeviciute and Guinevere Van Seenus star in this 40’s inspired editorial where tanning in your bra at the park and wearing Prada’s boots in the water is totally normal. I love that stylists are actually taking the boots fishing inspired roots into consideration.

MAG HAG FLIP W Magazine, August 2009 featuring Lara Stone

We flipped through the latest issue of W Magazine featuring fashion “It” girl Lara Stone and decided to share it with you. Enjoysies.
SPREAD UM: Sanctuary, Guinevere Van Seenus by Mario Sorrenti

Lush is the word that immediately coms to mind while looking at this amazing editorial shot in Cumberland Island, Georgia. Guinevere Van Seenus literally looks like a bird about to fly away in this Alexander Mcqueen work of art. I’m amazed that she could move her arms at all, yet somehow Guinevere was able to look as graceful as dove. Check cult to see more amazing posing in this greenhouse-esque environment.

MAG HAG: Lara Stone for W August ‘09

Lara Stone has snagged the cover of W magazine for August ‘09. The model seems to have hit a lucky streak with images seen in Vogue Paris and V Magazine, with the most recent shot above done by Steven Klein.

When Great Fashion Falls Victim To A Lame Spread
When people ask me why W is my favorite magazine, I usually go into nauseous detail about how I flip directly to the back and fawn over the brilliant editorials for hours. But to be quite frank, W’s most recent spread, “100% Fashion” has me 100% embarrassed for being such an advocate for the magazine. It is possible that the styling in this spread is some of the best I’ve seen W do, but this spread is an absolute buzz kill, dulling down what had the potential for an award winning editorial. To me, shoving well styled models in front of a blank or boringly simple background is a sign of laziness and thoughtlessness. The family portrait shots don’t lend themselves well to the immaculate fashion, nor do the random couches–this has all been done, too many times, before.
Obviously, one bad apple don’t spoil the whole bunch and I still love W, but hopefully they realize that slacking in the editorial department makes an entire issue look bad. Besides the incredible clothes, this is certainly one spread to line the birdcage with…

SPREAD UM: Ginnifer Goodwin by Steven Klein for W, June 2009

The June 2009 feature editorial in W Magazine is a bold choice – not just for cover girl Ginnifer Goodwin, who just seems so clean and normal to me (I mean, she was in a campaign for The Gap!), but also for the magazine itself. (Previous cover stars this year include Madonna and Brad Pitt).
Nevertheless, it’s a good move, even if just for the principle of being different. On the belly-baring cover, Goodwin wears a Versace jacket and Balenciaga breifs.
Steven Klein shot the Big Love star for the accompanying “Not So Goodwin” spread, perhaps to try to break down some walls. Male models, including Marlon Teixeira, also feature in the sexy editorial, whose styling still seems a little Amy Winehouse-inspired (big hair, tiny clothes, dirty faces).

INTERVIEWS OF FASHION: Amy Adams in W Magazine Talks About Being Confused for that Funnier Red Hed
Amy Adams talks about shit we don’t actually care about in the new issue of W Magazine. Apparently, she was almost a GAP slave until she decided that movies were a better career choice. Good Job, Ames.

This spread makes me hungry, and not for the reasons you’re thinking…it’s the old school diner that makes me want a rootbeer float.

Roberto Cavalli Launches Dog Wear “Roberto Cavalli Pets”

Roberto Cavalli is set to expand his fashion empire with a collection of pooch couture, which will include satin-trimmed doggy bathrobes, printed silk shorts, shearling jackets, and velour tracksuits designed for small and medium-size dogs.
“Roberto and I have always loved animals; we have so many of them around the house,” wife Eva Cavalli said in a recent interview with W Magazine. “It came as a natural conclusion, therefore, to bring a bit of our style to the canine universe.”
Eva says she and her hubby love animals and wanted to bring their signature sense style to the canine world.
“Who doesn’t love dogs? They’re reliable, faithful and caring. I could not imagine my house without them or our other animals. They’re true members of the family.”
Accessories include quilted dog carriers and patent-leather collars and leashes. The Robert Cavalli Pets Line is priced from $110 for a t-shirt to $1,200 for a patent-leather quilted carrier.
