Edited by

TIME Magazine decided to place a mom breastfeeding her three-year-old son on its cover to illustrate its story on “attachment parenting.” Meanwhile, showing Kris Jenner and her Kardashian klan would’ve had the same (nauseating) effect. [Huff Po]

The Olympics really takes the lighting of the Olympic torch super serial. So serial in fact, there were men wearing pleated skirts. [Styleite]

Edited by

From ads for Banana Republic, Chanel, Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana to editorials in W, various Vogues — including the holy grail, Vogue Italia, Interview and Vanity Fair, Beckman’s sets often steal the show. They often make the show as well — Beckman has created the imagniative sets for eight  Marc Jacobs runway presentations. W Magazine Celebrates Sølve Sundsbo’s “Ever Changing Face of Beauty”

Edited by

Walking into the Park Ave Armory last night, one couldn’t help but notice the two 25-foot tall screens, one projecting a male and the other a female, perpetually walking in silhouette. The image alone was striking but guests of W Magazine and acclaimed photographer Sølve Sundsbo hadn’t seen anything yet. The unknown male and female were revealed to be none other than Calvin Klein darlings David Agbodji and Lara Stone, who through the course of Sundsbo’s “Ever Changing Face of Beauty” blurred the lines of race, gender, culture and even species through a series of digital morphs. Lara’s and David’s body parts were mixed and matched while fashion by stylist Marie Chaix beautifully augmented the surrealistic vibe of the piece. The result was a visually-stunning exploration of the many facets — and faces — of beauty and a true highlight of an otherwise lackluster Fashion Week. Click through for photos and video from the exhibit.

#NYFW Cheat Sheet: Tommy Hilfiger AW12

Edited by

Looking around the scene at Tommy Hilfiger’s fall 2012 runway show I thought I had mistakenly wandered into an English garden. Vines of ivy twisted their way along brick columns and trees fully in bloom sat in their own separate little fields. If not for the giant catwalk winding around those fields, I would’ve expected a tea party to commence at any second. From this setting I also expected very light, dainty, ladylike fare – but from the first look it was apparent that the house that Tommy built was not serving tea. A thread of military dressing ran through the collection, centered heavily on coats in shearling, bonded leather and Melton wool. Dresses in silk suggested a ladylike quality, but this lady’s ready to face the ravages of fall and stare it down till the spring.

Vogue Still Number 1 in Ad Pages, but W Is the Fastest Growing Pub

Edited by

Anna Wintour is still effing shutting it down. 300 years into her tenure as editrix-in-chic of Vogue, the fashion’s unofficial bible retains its top slot with ad pages for its March spring fashion issue — the lesser man’s September issue — totaling 442.74. You see that .74? That’s called putting in work, kids. It’s also called Kohl’s ads alongside Louis Vuitton, but such is the (reduced) price of success.
