SPREAD UM: McDean for W

Photographer Craig McDean featured girls of the moment for this month’s W, in a 30-page spread including Karlie Kloss, Amanda Laine, Sigrid Agren, Imogen Morris-Clarke,Dorothea Barth Jorgensen, Viktoriya Sasonkina, Nimue Smit and many more. Argen graced the pages of W in bright Michael Kors, while the rest of the frizzed and feather-haired girls add in a full force glam squad.
SPREAD UM: Harvest by Mario Sorrenti for W

I almost didn’t recognize Lara Stone and Eniko Mihalik in this super-Springy editorial in the April 2009 issue of W Magazine.
Stylist Camilla Nickerson mixed Mother Nature with looks from Chanel, Etro, Calvin Klein, and more: the models seem eerily and awesomely static and prop-like under bouquets, vines, leaves, and other vegetation.

MAG HAG: Brad Pitt for Architectural Digest

Haha….OK so it’s not a fashion magazine. Or even an entertainment magazine. But I know there are Brad Pitt fans out there, and this was just too good to ignore.
I would love to see how the sales of the January issue of Architectural Digest compare to Brad’s February issue of W.

Teen Vogue, W, Marie Claire, and Glamour Report Double-Digit Declines

Some major glossies are reporting serious declines in their newstand sales including Conde Nast’s W and Teen Vogue. Apparently, readers are skipping the tree killing medium for a little something called the Internet (a.k.a FashionIndie.com).
Spread Um: Blake Lively Gets the W Treatment
The rumors of Blake Lively’s W cover are true.
The blondest of the Gossip Girl clan, Blake dishes on her early decision to go into acting, her fathers recent car crash, and her plans to play a bulemic Texan in an upcoming indie.
All in the all, it’s one of the most boring interviews I’ve wasted time on reading, so skip it and just check out the photos below.
Thanks to W for giving us less than impressive shots of a starlet we’re dying to see doing more than pushing out her nearly non existent cleavage.
The Bashed: Venus and Serena in Harper’s Bazaar

The recently released spread of Venus and Serena Williams for the November issue of Harper’s Bazaar reminded me why I cancelled my subscription to that magazine. As if seeing a naked and pregnant Britney Spears on the cover a few years back wasn’t scarring enough, now I have to see two overly muscular twins attempt (keyword: attempt) to make tennis seem sexy and fashionable. Sorry ladies, but holding up your dresses and to show some beefy leg doesn’t constitute as worthy of a fashion spread. I wouldn’t even line the birdcage with this awful spread.
Vogue and W, forty. Harper’s Bazaar, love.
Thanks Popcrunch!
Fashion Summer Camp with Kate Moss!!!
So wish I was invited. Behind the scenes of Bruce Webbers shots for W magazine.
