Bottoms Up

Whether it is a red carpet affair, magazine spread, or a paparazzi shot these guys make sure their lips are on full display. They could give their female celeb counterparts, and any Honey girl, serious competition when it comes to giving good face (no pun intended)! Pucker up and …

Heineken Inspire Tour featuring J. Cole and Wale

Edited by

Last Saturday I, along with hundreds of other people including my friend Shelly, attended the Heineken Inspire concert featuring J. Cole, Wale, DJ D-Nice, and the surprise guest, the Teflon Don himself, Rick Ross. I did not know what to expect from this event. I thought I was just going to see J. Cole and Wale perform, but I was in for a great surprise. There was so much to do before the concert started and everything was free.

They had a great variety of food from sausage and peppers, dim sum (stuffed dumplings), reubens (sandwiches), hot dogs, pretzels and all of the Heineken you can drink (I don’t drink beer so I drank water). They also had various games like ping pong and two Nintendo Wii stations. They were also customizing t-shirts. You had the option of four colors and four designs. You also got the chance to be on the cover of “RollingStone Magazine” with an impromptu photo shoot with various props. Here are photos from the event

J. Cole has such great stage presence. He had no hype man and did an amazing job!

Wale was cool. He did A LOT of call and response and even performed in the crowd, but after a while I was a little bored. He had too much going on..it was too hard to focus.

Rick Ross was the surprise guest and he killed it! When DJ D-Nice introduced him everybody went crazy. Of course he came out to B.M.F. (Blowing Money Fast) and I swear everybody in that building was Big Meech or Larry Hoover.

This event was put on by Team Epiphany which is a branding and marketing company. This was a great event.

PARTNER: Aural Pleasure: 7/2 – 7/9

Aural pleasure is sensing your emotions ignore restraint and melt into a chord. It’s hearing an Einstein sixteen and feeling your brow wrinkle like a three-hour soak. It’s a verse that tempts your tears or woos your hips. The rhythms we want when tonguing a crush, pulling a friend’s palm to the dance floor, warming a heartache, trashing a sour love, throwing a middle finger to the world … embracing the world. It’s good fucking music, literally and sentimentally.

Peep Honey’s weekly play list and start lusting hard. After all, who can resist great aural?

M.I.A. ft. Nicki Minaj – “Teqkilla”
We may have never thought to put two of our favorite good girls gone bad on the same track but thank goodness someone did. “Teqkilla” has us completely under their influence.
Listen While: Getting loose off the goose…

Ciara – “Pretty Girl Swag”
This right here is… a Super C swagger jack. She’s still the princess of the A and this track reminds us just how she got her crown. Her seductively gangsta low moans will have you feeling yourself. Her ish’ talking will have you feeling her flow. The track is slated to be featured on her Basic Instinct mixtape. We can only imagine the alluring acrobatics she’ll be showing off in the “Pretty Boy Swag” Remix video (featuring CC, Soulja Boy and Gucci Mane.)
Listen While: Slowing it down CC style…

U.C.B. ft. Wale – “Diana”
We are totally down anytime Diana’s involved. A Diana Ross sample over Go Go drums, plus a little Wale and U.C.B. equals the perfect easy breezy Sunday swag track. Down to the male falsetto on the hook, this track has us indulging in nostalgia. Mahogany style.
Listen While: Channeling Diana during a daily wardrobe change…

Heven – “GBF”
What girl can’t appreciate an ode to our formative gay besties who keep us sex in the city fly. “GBF” is the latest from newcomer, Heven. She’s giving us Kelis fever circa 1999.
Listen While: Tearing down the mall with your GBF, it’s only fair.

PARTNER: Freshman Haze: Phil Adé

Phil Adé is far from ordinary, more so extraordinary. For only being on the scene for less than a handful of years, DC rapper has collected prestigious co-signs by pure talent, from Wale to Raheem Devaugn. We aren’t mad at all.

Check out what Phil Adé had to say about the co-sign of Raheem Devaughn, Sneaker Pimps and sophomore LP The Letterman.
