<p>In honor of music month and the beginning of summer concerts, we bring you the ultimate music itinerary. From blaring bass and melodic voices to over-the-top themes, these are your must-see shows in New York this week.</p>
<p><span id="more-244159"></span></p>
<p><a href="http://fashionindie.com/nyc-concert-itinerary-must-see-shows-this-week-2/fashion-indie-music-itinerary/" rel="attachment wp-att-244163"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-244163" src="http://fashionindiemedia.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Fashion-Indie-Music-Itinerary-560x549.jpg" alt="NYC Concert Itinerary: Must See Shows This Week" width="560" height="549" title="NYC Concert Itinerary: Must See Shows This Week" /></a></p>
<p><strong>The Used</strong></p>
<p>It may be pouring, but that doesn&#8217;t mean you should be snoring. Kick away the rainy day blues with some live music by The Used.</p>
<p>Monday May 21, 6:30pm, Irving Plaza, 17 Irving Place.</p>
<p><strong>Garbage</strong></p>
<p>The band born in a time when MTV actually played music videos and Pop-Up Video was an after-school show is back with a new album after a 7-year hiatus. Garbage will perform songs from their new album <em>Not Your Kind of People </em>and hopefully some classics like &#8220;Stupid Girl&#8221; and &#8220;Milk.&#8221;</p>
<p>Tuesday May 22, 7pm. Webster Hall, 125 East 11 Street. 212.353.1600</p>
<p><strong>Gossip</strong></p>
<p>If you stop to dance every time you see the Charlize Theron J&#8217;Adore commercial, you can&#8217;t miss Gossip&#8217;s show in New York this Tuesday. Always a dance-worthy event.</p>
<p>Tuesday May 22, 7pm. Terminal 5, 610 West 56 Street. 212.582.6600.</p>
<p><strong>Rootz Underground</strong></p>
<p>Take an imaginary vacation to Jamaica with live reggae music by international band Rootz Underground. The beats will keep you moving all night, and you&#8217;ll feel like you&#8217;ve retreated to tropical paradise. What a nice way to break up the week.</p>
<p>Tuesday May 22, 8pm. B.B. King Blues Club and Grill, 237 W 42 Street. 212.997.4144.</p>
<p><strong>One Direction</strong></p>
<p>A group of <a href="http://fashionindie.com/boy-band-style/" target="_blank">dapper Brits</a> telling you you&#8217;re beautiful. Need we say more?</p>
<p>Saturday May 26, 3pm. Beacon Theatre, 2124 Broadway. 212.465.6500.</p>

<p><strong><a href="http://origins.com">Origins</a></strong> rocked <strong>Earth Month</strong> last night as Grammy winners <strong>Train</strong> headlined a lineup of whopping new talent: singer/songwriter <strong>Nikki Jean</strong> and English band <strong>Treetop Flyers</strong>. And they were all talking about the environment.<strong>Origins</strong> is greening the world with all natural, completely vegan beauty products. They’re planting trees, recycling tons and leading the industry by example. And they’re rocking out while they do it.</p>
<p>Price of admission: One Earth Pledge.</p>
<p>Goodie bag: A tree is planted in each attendee’s honor.</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-193269" href="http://fashionindie.com/origins-took-train-to-a-better-earth/patrick-monahan-of-train-performs-at-the-2nd-annual-origins-rocks-earth-month-concert-at-webster-hall-on-april-20-2011-in-new-york-city/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-193269" title="Patrick Monahan of Train performs at the 2nd annual Origins Rocks Earth Month concert at Webster Hall on April 20, 2011 in New York City" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Patrick-Monahan-of-Train-performs-at-the-2nd-annual-Origins-Rocks-Earth-Month-concert-at-Webster-Hall-on-April-20-2011-in-New-York-City.jpeg" alt="Origins Took Train to a Better Earth" width="396" height="594" /></a></p>
<p><strong><span id="more-193262"></span></strong></p>
<p>Let’s Tarantino the concert backwards for you:</p>
<p>Before bringing the house down with a <strong>Drops of Jupiter</strong> encore finale, <strong>Train</strong>’s vocal virtuoso <strong>Patrick Monahan</strong> walked singing through the crowd with a mic and a security guard, giving hugs and spreading love to <strong>Marry Me</strong>. Before that, he brought the audience to a hush as he sang a cappella, sans microphone, turning <strong>Webster Hall</strong> into a true <em>theater. </em>With <strong>Soul Sister</strong> came the involuntary sing along, and <strong>Meet Virginia</strong> struck a deep chord toward the start. In betwixt all of this, he called up eight young ladies up to be the <strong>Trainettes</strong>, making them rockstars for a moment.  Needless to say, their new single <strong>Save me, San Francisco</strong> drove the audience wild, like every one of their singles that get stuck in our heads indefinitely.</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-193265" href="http://fashionindie.com/origins-took-train-to-a-better-earth/img00230-20110420-2133/"><img class="alignnone size-large wp-image-193265" title="The Trainettes" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/IMG00230-20110420-2133-560x420.jpg" alt="Origins Took Train to a Better Earth" width="560" height="420" /></a></p>
<p>Opening for Train was the stunning <strong>Nikki Jean</strong>. Down in her core she is a songwriter with a nostalgic soul. Her new album took her around the country to write with some of the greatest living songwriters like <strong>Bob Dylan</strong>, <strong>Carole King</strong>, <strong>Burt Bacharach</strong>, <strong>Carly Simon</strong> and many others. What was gained is a young songstress now evolving with the wisdom of the legends of our time. There were notes of those greats in the atmosphere as she serenaded the audience on the ivory keys.</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-193270" href="http://fashionindie.com/origins-took-train-to-a-better-earth/n6312358060_740085_6391/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-193270" title="Nikki Jean" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/n6312358060_740085_6391.jpeg" alt="Origins Took Train to a Better Earth" width="322" height="483" /></a></p>
<p>Right before Nikki Jean took the stage, the <strong>winners</strong> of the Origins Rocks Earth Month <strong>Green Artist Search</strong> <strong><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i95lfmQF6TU">Treetop Flyers</a></strong> haunted the audience with tickling guitar riffs and voices smooth as honey. Chaps from England have a way with music.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Treetop Flyers" src="http://www.clashmusic.com/files/imagecache/big_node_view/files/Treetop-Flyers.jpg" alt="Origins Took Train to a Better Earth" width="323" height="400" /></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Before any of this went down, FashionIndie caught up with <strong>Train</strong> on the Green Carpet as they entered. We asked them, how do they take the green initiative upon themselves?</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-193263" href="http://fashionindie.com/origins-took-train-to-a-better-earth/l-to-r-jimmy-stafford-patrick-monahan-and-scott-underwood-of-train-attend-the-2nd-annual-origins-rocks-earth-month-concert-at-webster-hall-on-april-20-2011-in-new-york-city/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-193263" title="(L to R) Jimmy Stafford, Patrick Monahan and Scott Underwood of Train attend the 2nd annual Origins Rocks Earth Month concert at Webster Hall on April 20, 2011 in New York City" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/L-to-R-Jimmy-Stafford-Patrick-Monahan-and-Scott-Underwood-of-Train-attend-the-2nd-annual-Origins-Rocks-Earth-Month-concert-at-Webster-Hall-on-April-20-2011-in-New-York-City.jpeg" alt="Origins Took Train to a Better Earth" width="397" height="594" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Pat Monahan</strong>: “We haven’t just woken up to <em>hey, take care of the earth</em>. And this isn’t, <em>take care of the earth. </em>The earth <em>will</em> win. It’s take care of the future children we want to have. Love your job and the other things will come. We love our job and it makes us want to be more helpful, and do events like this.“</p>
<p><strong>Scott Underwood</strong>: &#8220;We’re reducing our footprint as a band. We used to use lots of bottles of water, and we’re trying to fully eliminate it. We’re trying to green our bus, but we’re not always there in there.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Jimmy Stafford</strong>: “We did the John Mayer tour, and bands like us, come in requesting the venues to be green. We’re making those demands now, but it will become more common.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>See who else was on the Green Carpet:</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-193264" href="http://fashionindie.com/origins-took-train-to-a-better-earth/l-to-r-kelli-tomashoff-and-dalal-bruchmann-attend-the-2nd-annual-origins-rocks-earth-month-concert-at-webster-hall-on-april-20-2011-in-new-york-city/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-193264" title="(L to R) Kelli Tomashoff and Dalal Bruchmann attend the 2nd annual Origins Rocks Earth Month concert at Webster Hall on April 20, 2011 in New York City" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/L-to-R-Kelli-Tomashoff-and-Dalal-Bruchmann-attend-the-2nd-annual-Origins-Rocks-Earth-Month-concert-at-Webster-Hall-on-April-20-2011-in-New-York-City.jpeg" alt="Origins Took Train to a Better Earth" width="396" height="594" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Kelli Tomashoff </strong>(L): Known from <strong>NYC Prep</strong>, she’s just released her single <strong>Gave Up On Love</strong>. She’s trying to be greener by using fewer water bottles, and her own shopping bags.</p>
<p><strong><a href="http://www.myspace.com/dalalmusic">Dalal</a> Bruchmann </strong>(R): This young musical phenom just dropped her new single <strong>Taste The Night</strong> and has written songs for wildlife charities to save the world.</p>
<p><a rel="attachment wp-att-193267" href="http://fashionindie.com/origins-took-train-to-a-better-earth/julissa-bermudez-attends-the-2nd-annual-origins-rocks-earth-month-concert-at-webster-hall-on-april-20-2011-in-new-york-city/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-193267" title="Julissa Bermudez attends the 2nd annual Origins Rocks Earth Month concert at Webster Hall on April 20, 2011 in New York City" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Julissa-Bermudez-attends-the-2nd-annual-Origins-Rocks-Earth-Month-concert-at-Webster-Hall-on-April-20-2011-in-New-York-City.jpeg" alt="Origins Took Train to a Better Earth" width="396" height="594" /></a></p>
<p><strong>Julissa Bermudez</strong>: Co-host on BET’s 106 &amp; Park, she looked sizzling in <strong>Kimberly Ovitz.</strong></p>
<p><strong><a rel="attachment wp-att-193266" href="http://fashionindie.com/origins-took-train-to-a-better-earth/jane-lauder-and-jeff-miles-attend-the-2nd-annual-origins-rocks-earth-month-concert-at-webster-hall-on-april-20-2011-in-new-york-city/"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-193266" title="Jane Lauder and Jeff Miles attend the 2nd annual Origins Rocks Earth Month concert at Webster Hall on April 20, 2011 in New York City" src="http://ficdn.fashionindie.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Jane-Lauder-and-Jeff-Miles-attend-the-2nd-annual-Origins-Rocks-Earth-Month-concert-at-Webster-Hall-on-April-20-2011-in-New-York-City.jpeg" alt="Origins Took Train to a Better Earth" width="396" height="594" /></a><br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Jane Lauder</strong>: Global President &amp; General Manager of Origins has so many ways to be green, I don’t think it’s possible to name all of them here. She’s planting trees, recycling tons of used makeup containers, and continuing to ensure Origins is completely natural.</p>
<p><strong>Jeff Miles</strong>: The night&#8217;s MC from <strong>95.5 PLJ </strong>moved to NY from Dalla, TX, so for him going completely carless is a huge step in greening his life.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

The model&#8217;s hair and makeup (Done by: Daniel Koninsky, Perry Foulke, Erica, Kristin Jackson and Dee) was insane, complete with heart-shaped lips and faux hairballs, these models looked like they were from another planet.  The new line was a technicolor dream, as to be expected from our friend Cassie.  She definitely stepped it up this year with some surprises (like the ruffled ankle cuffs), and the party wasn&#8217;t too bad either!</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">I&#8217;m sure by now you&#8217;ve seen all of our &#8216;Last Night&#8217;s Party&#8217;s from last week, and you know that Thursday night we were at Webster Hall for Diesel&#8217;s U:Music talking with Cobra Starship and Passion Pit, and then avidly blogged until 5am so that you could all see the details from the night first, so our weekend started quite early.  Of course, we headed out Friday and Saturday to some different spots so we could (hopefully) have crazy/funny stories on Monday.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">&#8211;</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-55439" title="Picture 5" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Picture-5.png" alt="THIS WEEKENDS PARTY(S): 5am Nights" width="447" height="569" />Our Friday started early as we felt the effects of staying up all night, and woke up early to head to the Nylon and SoBe Life Water sample sale and runway event and were sad to find that Daniel and Rebecca were not there.  Regardless, the event was a good time, a great turnout, and I got a few Hellz Bellz tees from the sample sale (which I&#8217;m quite excited about). <a href="http://www.cultindie.com/photo/albums/sobe-life-water-x-nylon-event" target="_blank">Photos of this event are now up on Cult</a>. Later, we met Daniel and Rebecca and headed over to a meeting with a potential party spot for Fashion Indie, and enjoyed a nice lunch. Then it was time for naps before the real partying began.  </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Corey&#8217;s night started out at Webster Hall with Atrak, here&#8217;s what he had to say:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-55385" title="Picture 38" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Picture-38-550x379.png" alt="THIS WEEKENDS PARTY(S): 5am Nights" width="500" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I spent Friday night at Webster Hall courtesy of my new aquaintance Lindsay Luv. As if the bottle service wasn&#8217;t enough, we had the best table in the house for A-Trak and Treasure Fingers, two of the best (and my favorite) DJ&#8217;s in the industry. The floor below was jam packed with kids, 90% of which couldn&#8217;t see they were so messed up, but every last one of them couldn&#8217;t help but move to the insanity that was A-trak. For a DJ set I must say it ended a bit early, so that meant it was time head over to The Annex to meet up with Hillary for promised fun at Ruff Club with Aaron K.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">&#8211;</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">I never fail to follow through on a promise. After hitting up Angels and Kings (a bar I actually used to frequent..no mocking, please), I realized exactly why I stopped going there, so left and headed to have some real fun at Ruff Club.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-55387" title="Picture 39" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Picture-39-550x366.png" alt="THIS WEEKENDS PARTY(S): 5am Nights" width="500" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Aaron K was ready to party as usual, in his giant tulle bow fastened with a brooch (which was absolutely amazing), and so were all of our other friends at Ruff. Needless to say, the night was full of good music, good friends, and not one, but two bottles. We closed the night outside chatting with new friends, and headed back to World Trade around 5am, luckily making it without any lost shoes.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">&#8211;</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-55388" title="Picture 40" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Picture-40.png" alt="THIS WEEKENDS PARTY(S): 5am Nights" width="481" height="358" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Saturday was a bit more low-key (although I did not fail to miss the parade happening in Jersey City, anyone know what that was?), I headed down to Peculiar Pub to meet with Corey and a few of his old friends, and found myself surrounded with people I would find at every bar in Michigan (which isn&#8217;t a good thing, like that guy up there from the &#8220;New Haircut&#8221; video on Youtube) After a drink we left and headed to Red Head, which was quiet and relaxed, just the way I like it for a Saturday night.  We somehow managed to look down at our phones and realize it was 3:30AM, so closed the night with the bar, and parted ways. </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">&#8211;</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">No complaints for this weekend, it was a lot of fun, and we love Ruff Club as usual, sorry for the lack of crazy stories, I&#8217;m sure we&#8217;ll make up for it this week!</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">There was no shortage in attendance at last night&#8217;s U:Music Concert hosted by Diesel at Webster Hall, and even as the night pushed on later and later the line was still going strong. Thanks to our friends over at Cornerstone, Hillary and I were lucky enough to not only see the such bands as Passion Pit, Cobra Starship, The Clipse, The Roots and Kanye West perform, but we got a chance to sit down and ask Passion Pit and Cobra Starship some pretty interesting (and funny) fashion questions.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-55076" title="DSC04150" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/DSC04150-550x733.jpg" alt="LAST NIGHTS PARTY: Diesel U:Music Concert @ Webster Hall" width="350" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The drinks were flowing at the all night open bar, and as Hillary and I enjoyed are drinks of choice, we warmed up the camera for the onslaught of pictures that were about to be taken.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-55073" title="DSC04141" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/DSC04141-350x262.jpg" alt="LAST NIGHTS PARTY: Diesel U:Music Concert @ Webster Hall" width="350" height="262" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">First up, Passion Pit! Due to a few personal connections to the band, I have to admit I was most excited to see Passion Pit. The band certainly didn&#8217;t let me down either. Mike Angelakos&#8217; falsetto was in full effect, and the band put on one of the best shows I&#8217;ve seen all year.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-55093" title="Picture 2" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Picture-279-350x262.png" alt="LAST NIGHTS PARTY: Diesel U:Music Concert @ Webster Hall" width="350" height="262" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">After Passion Pit wrapped up, Cobra Starship jumped on stage to perform a mix of new and old tracks, including Good Girls Go Bad off their upcoming album Hot Mess. The band got the dance party going for sure, and despite not having Leighton Meester come out to sing along, Cobra Starship definitely killed it.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-55078" title="DSC04214" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/DSC04214-350x262.jpg" alt="LAST NIGHTS PARTY: Diesel U:Music Concert @ Webster Hall" width="350" height="262" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Then came the surprise of the night! The Clipse got up on stage and performed a handful of songs, one of which &#8220;The new king of pop&#8221; Kanye West came on stage to help out with. Due to the fact that I have never seen The Clipse before, I must admit they stole the show for me! Oh and did I mention that when I tried to snap a picture of Kanye backstage I was almost thrown out of the event by his douchey bodyguard? LAME!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-55079" title="DSC04253" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/DSC04253-350x262.jpg" alt="LAST NIGHTS PARTY: Diesel U:Music Concert @ Webster Hall" width="350" height="262" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The Roots closed out the night with a solid performance as well. Quest Love was on the drums as always with his signature Afro flying proud. After plenty of drinks and a lot of time on our feet, it was time for Hillary and I to call it a night. A quick late night bite to eat, and back to the apartment to blog. Be sure to check out all the additional coverage of the Diesel U:Music event on Fashion Indie, I mean we were up until 5am blogging so show some love people!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Thanks again to everyone involved with the event, Karli, Passion Pit, Cobra Starship, and last but not least, Diesel.</p>

<p>Hillary and I spent last night (technically still tonight, sleep isn&#8217;t an option at Fashion Indie) at the Diesel U:Music party at Webster Hall. On the invite there was the big &#8220;Special Performance&#8221; tag line, which clearly meant all bets were off. Needless to say we were all surprised enough to see Pusha T and Malice of The Clipse, but when Kanye West stepped on stage it was game over! Despite almost getting thrown out of the party for trying to snap a picture of Mr. West before he got on stage, I was able to bargain my way out of trouble long enough to film this clip of their performance. Notice my amazing video skills thank you very much, but ignore how the flashing lights managed to mess with the auto focus at certain times.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">We sat down with Jeff, Ayad, and Ian of Passion Pit to rattle off a few questions before their set, and found out everything you really wanted to know:</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Fashion Indie</strong>: So rumor has it you guys are sponsored by Marc Jacobs?</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Passion Pit</strong> (looking shocked): No, we&#8217;d like to be sponsored by some dorky stuff (<strong>Ayad</strong>).</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Manager</strong>- Marc Jacobs may be sending them some free stuff.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Ian</strong>- Usually what happens is that we endorse something, and then we get free stuff, like instruments.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Fashion Indie</strong>: Who is the most fashion-conscious member of your band?</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>PP</strong>: (Disagreement) Ian thinks he&#8217;s the most fashionable but Jeff and Ayad agree that it&#8217;s Mike.  Mike took a fashion class, which is where the name Passion Pit originated from. Fashion Indie agrees that it is most likely Mike.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>FI</strong>: Cobra Starship did a collaboration with Leighton Meester (who we actually had to explain to the guys that she was from Gossip Girl, they had no idea who she was).  If you could do a collaboration with a celebrity, who would it be?</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>PP</strong>: Beyonce.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Jeff</strong>- No Solange.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Manager</strong>- &#8230;you probably could do that.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Ayad</strong>- We should stick with the original.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Jeff</strong>- Yeah, we might as well reach for the sky.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>FI</strong>: Have you guys seen the movie Bruno? (No, not yet). If he were to style your next photo shoot, would it be the full velcro suit? Or the kilt with angel wings from the MTV VMAs?</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>PP</strong>: Neither, the banana hammock</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>FI</strong>: If you were to do a collaboration product or line with Diesel, what would it be?</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>PP</strong> (after some muttering, something about not liking the pricing too much, I think):</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Ayad</strong>- I&#8217;d do more stuff for broad shouldered, shorter guys. (Clearly making reference to his stature).</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>FI</strong>: Alright, last question; who had better style as a TV father figure, Mike Brady or Bill Cosby?</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>PP</strong> (In up-roaring agreement): Bill Cosby, he had a bad ass sweater collection.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-54983" title="Picture 8" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Picture-816-550x385.png" alt="THE INNER VIEWS OF MUSIC: Passion Pit" width="500" /></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Passion Pit put on a killer performance. Corey is uploading videos to the Fashion Indie Youtube channel as I type! <a href="http://www.cultindie.com/photo/albums/passion-pit-diesel-umusic" target="_blank">Check out more photos from their performance on Cult</a></p>

<p>We had a chance to sit down tonight with Gabe and Ryland of Cobra Starship at the &#8216;Diesel U:Music&#8217; event at Webster Hall, and they dished exclusively to Fashion Indie about everything you <strong><em>really </em></strong>wanted to know:</p>
<p>&#8211;</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54974" title="Picture 3" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Picture-352.png" alt="THE INNER VIEWS OF MUSIC: Cobra Starship" width="399" height="264" /><strong>Fashion Indie</strong>: First and foremost, how incredibly hot is Leighton Meester?</p>
<p><strong>Cobra Starship</strong>: Really hot!  She&#8217;s the hottest she&#8217;s ever looked in our video.  In Gossip Girl she&#8217;s in high school, but in our video she brought it.</p>
<p><strong>Ryland</strong>: She&#8217;s really shiny.</p>
<p><strong>Gabe</strong>: She&#8217;s got the blonde hair, like Betty to Veronica. She&#8217;s a bad girl. They both agree, she&#8217;s a total babe.</p>
<p><strong>FI</strong>: Ryland, if you could steal an article from Gabe&#8217;s closet, what would it be?</p>
<p><strong>CS</strong>: My retro Jordan 2 Low-tops.</p>
<p>Wait, what?&#8230;.Apparently Gabe stole a pair of Ryland&#8217;s Jordan&#8217;s, and he keeps them in his &#8220;cloffice,&#8221; or closet office, which he described as &#8220;I keep a stack of sneakers and I have a little desk.&#8221;  Just what I want, more space for the clothes and shoes, and a tiny desk to work from. So I guess if Ryland had to choose an article of Gabe&#8217;s clothing to steal, it would be one of his own, and Gabe agreed that if he had to steal an article of Ryland&#8217;s clothing, it would be the Jordans that he already stole.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54972" title="Picture 1" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Picture-1116.png" alt="THE INNER VIEWS OF MUSIC: Cobra Starship" width="498" height="497" /><strong>FI</strong>: If your upcoming album, <em>Hot Mess</em>, were an article of clothing, what would it be?</p>
<p><strong>CS</strong> (Both agree): After simply blurting out thong, they rediscuss the question to come up with a dirty long tank top with holes in it and no underwear, after a five day binge, with puke and blood all over it, and one nipple showing.</p>
<p>Side note- The guys told us that the tattoo on the girl&#8217;s lip on the cover of the album is actually a real tattoo. Nobody knew it, but it&#8217;s totally true.</p>
<p><strong>FI</strong>: If you were to do a collaboration product of line with Diesel, what would it be?</p>
<p><strong>CS</strong>: A stretch denim unitard, maybe in full cobra print. 90%  Stretch Denim, 10% Lycra</p>
<p><strong>FI</strong>: How do you guys dress for the stage?</p>
<p><strong>CS: Gabe</strong>- Honestly, we&#8217;re posers, we play to the crowd.  If we&#8217;re playing for a bunch of fifteen-year-olds that love hoodies, we&#8217;ll wear hoodies.</p>
<p><strong>Ryland</strong>- And if we&#8217;re playing for a bunch of Republicans, we&#8217;ll wear blue suits and red ties.</p>
<p><strong>FI</strong>: Who is the best dressed in the band?</p>
<p><strong>CS: Gabe</strong>- Ryland. He reads The Sartorialist and stuff. I just shop at the mall.</p>
<p>Finally, we saved the best for last:</p>
<p><strong>FI</strong>: If you were on &#8216;Nickelodeon Super Toy Run,&#8217; what toy would you be gunning for?</p>
<p>CS uproar: Gabe doesn&#8217;t know what &#8216;Nickelodeon Super Toy Run&#8217; was because he&#8217;s an &#8220;immigrant&#8221; and didn&#8217;t have cable, which turned into him calling us racist because immigrants couldn&#8217;t watch Super Toy Run, but Rylan quickly replied &#8220;The Voltron full set, the metal one, not the plastic one.&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-54977" title="Picture 6" src="http://fashionindie.lookbooks.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Picture-626-550x411.png" alt="THE INNER VIEWS OF MUSIC: Cobra Starship" width="500" /></p>
<p>The guys put on a great show, Corey&#8217;s uploading the videos as I type! <a href="http://www.cultindie.com/photo/albums/diesel-umusic-cobra-starship" target="_blank">Check out a gallery of their performance on Cult</a></p>

<p style="text-align: left;">Fashion and music go hand in hand, so it&#8217;s needless to assume that The Diesel:U:Music tour is going to be jaw dropping. While the tour lasts from July-December, NYC is one of Diesel&#8217;s first stops with an exclusive event for only the biggest Diesel gurus. Come July 30th, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/heartsrevolution" target="_blank">HEARTSREVOLUTION</a> and <a href="http://www.myspace.com/theterrorpigeondancerevolt" target="_blank">The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt!</a> will rock out at Webster Hall alongside a killer lineup of <a href="http://www.myspace.com/londonwave" target="_blank">Theophilus London</a>, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/passionpitjams" target="_blank">Passion Pit</a>, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/cobrastarship" target="_blank">Cobra Starship</a>, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/thisisdrake" target="_blank">Drake</a>, <a href="http://www.myspace.com/theroots" target="_blank">The Roots</a> and many more mystery guests.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">So, you&#8217;re itching to go, huh? Just wear your favorite pair of Diesel jeans to one of the following participating Diesel locations for a chance to snag invitations to this once in a lifetime, private event. As always, invitations are only available while supplies last: </p>
<p style="text-align: left;">-July 25th and 26th at Lexington at 60th Street at 5pm</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">-July 27th and 28th 5th Avenue and 54th Street at 5pm</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">-July 29th and 30th Union Square at 14th Street at 5pm</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">And if this event hasn&#8217;t made you fall harder for Diesel, the first fashion brand to launch a radio station back in 2008 will launch Diesel Radio live in NYC from July 20th-25th. Stop by the 5th Avenue Planet store for some enjoyable jams!</p>
