I love this look on Whitney – the dress is adorable and those coral Manolos are to DIE for. I wish she was working the carpet a little more though. Some expression in the face or a better pose wouldn’t kill her.

Well she’s certainly blossomed into a swan- sporting styles from a polka-dot bustier to a deep violet negligee, and she just may be interested in working for Victoria’s Secret, saying, “I’d consider it.” Really Whitney? We gotta say though, if we stripped down for a shoot, we’d hope to at least score the cover. (Refinery 29)

“We have the clothes and shoes and the bags so we’re ready.  But it won’t just be my stuff…there’ll be things I love that I find on my travels,” she explained.  “It’s very exciting for me because I get to be a buyer now!”

Based on the widespread popularity of her bags we’d peg her for the Soho or West Village type, but like pointed out last night, she likes to do things differently.  (She used to go on the Purse Forum years ago, before blogs were a blip on anyone’s radar, and interact with her customers.)  So we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled in the East Village, or even Brooklyn.

I love the city- just not MTV’s The City… it was definitely a whole season of my life I will never get back.. might be a bit on the dramatic side but what do you expect- you know it makes your gossip way more exciting… at least everyone is far more fond of Kelly Cutrone and DVF now?!….

Plus it must be said that the true fashionista on this show was my favorite Olivia Palermo and her Blair Waldorf inspired style!.. who cares if everyone was a bit on the negative side about her office skills who needs them when you have killer outfits.

Who knows maybe The City is canceled because Olivia is getting her own show… hey, it could happen!

The after show was kind of disappointing also. I wish the hosts would have asked more questions, but Lauren Conrad was there and that is all I needed. The other Indies are always laughing at me because I was addicted to the show, but I’m not ashamed to say that I love those girls!  They represented the American dream to me. When I was a student in France, their work in the fashion industry and great lives full of drama inspired me. Luck for me, The City might have another season, and I can’t wait to see what’s going on next for Whitney and Olivia. Since I am a raging fanatic, I hope that Lauren Conrad will make an appearance on an episode.

STEPHANIE Pratt is heading to New York — according to a new report.

Insiders say The Hills star is bound for the Big Apple so she can join MTV reality show The City.

Stephanie — the sister of psycho Spencer Pratt — has been talking to producers of the show, which stars Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo, reports New York Post gossip column Page Six.

“Now that The Hills is over, Stephanie has been talking about moving to New York for The City,” a source said.

“There would be a lot of drama there because her ex-best friend, Roxy Olin, is a regular on the show — and there’s bad blood because Roxy just dropped Stephanie for Whitney Port.”

For a flawless complexion I used Giorgio Armani Face Fabric Radiance in #1 with a foundation brush then followed with a sweep of Armani’s Loose Powder in #0. I used the lighter shade of CoverGirl Smoky Shadow Blast all over her lid, then contoured her crease with the darker shade. “I’m seeing a lot of stuff that, um, I think people would like. But, you know, I think there’s maybe a little bit of focus lacking, in terms of fashion with a capital “F,” uh, point of view. You know, to hear [that] you want to see yourself alongside someone like a Phillip Lim or an Alex Wang, you know, I mean, they—they are real designers. And I think that it doesn’t mean you can’t be a real designer someday. I’m not sure that I’m really getting a point of view.”

Ouchies. Hopefully, that punch to the vadge doesn’t end Whitney’s dreams of making it to the big leagues, cause honestly, I do like many of the things she’s released.

Last week, Becks and I had the opportunity to attend the 9th Annual Tulips & Pansises: The Headress Affair at Gotham Hall in NYC. A benefit for VillageCare, a nonprofit which helps those with HIV/AIDS, the event brought together a dozen extremely talented designers, Whitney Port, Fern Malis, Kelly Cutrone and Patricia Fields.

Always an event to look forward too, Tulips & Pansises outdid itself these year with headdresses designed by The Blondes, Tracey Reese, Betsey Johnson and DKNY. Best of all, the event was staged for an episode of The City, which we apparently will be on due to our seating directly behind the People’s Revolution crew, which included the super cute Ava Cutrone.

Can’t wait to see that episode, especially since we are also in  the episode airing this week, which takes place at a Guess Party we attending in the Spring with Joe Zee. Maybe FashionIndie will get a bigger cameo in the future?

If you were following our Tweets last week, you’d know that Becks and I met Kelly and Patricia. Patty grilled me on her work and told me if she ever decided to get married, it would be with someone who “entertained her”, male or female, while Kelly revealed that she’s questioning the merits of her book now considering the recent loss of her father.

Kelly, your book is major and you should never question it. You’ve created a warning tome for young females who enter New York with Sex and the City dreams and for that you should be proud.

I might sound stalkerish right now, but I’ve noticed that Whitney Port really likes her YSL Cage Shoes. I’ve spotted her at two places this week alone wearing the shoes, first at Tulips & Pansies then at the Sex and the City 2 Premiere. Surprising, since I would imagine her shoe closet being bigger then my apt.  Time for a new stylist Whitney.

Seems like fans of The City can finally have the chance to live like Whitney Port. The “actress” swank West Village three-bedroom pad from the show is up for sale on Craigslist for $7000 bucks. Features include high ceilings, picture windows, a private roof deck and daily script writing by the producers at MTV.

I wonder if this means Whitney will be moving at the end of the season? Will she be getting a better place, moving in with a love interest, or possibly leaving The City all together?!? Let the rumors begin…

Whitney Port was spotted rocking a $15 Susie Rose for Walmart A-line tube dress [view full collection] on the way to a photoshoot at Smashbox Studios yesterday. The reality star sure knows how to look good on a budget, a trait she shares with our own Becka Alexander, who’ll hit up Walmart for basics from Norma Kamali. What do you think of Whitney’s look?

At Whitney’s Rue La La shoot at Milk studio’s .. Erin breaks the news that Olivia is not going to show up and do the interview with her for Elle.com as promised because of her lack of interest in the line. In conclusion, Olivia is the most thick headed idiot to disobey a job from the magazine she works at.

While they were shooting Whitney’s lookbook, Olivia, of course, went to go see her designer friend instead and “check out” her line because she has control of what goes on Elle.com…Right?!

Back at the Whitney Eve shoot, Kelly is not impressed and blabs about how Olivia is going “down and how she is “dead”. Wait.. Did the city just turn into Kell On Earth?

Back at the Elle offices, Olivia bitches (she’s wearing Balmain) to Erin on how it wasn’t her fault on why she didn’t go to the shoot, it was all “miss-communication”.

Erin is not amused and makes a face that screams ‘this incompetent child should be fired immediately “.

Roxy goes on a date with a Tyson Ritter look a like and talks about how it’s so cold in New York during the winter. Really? Cold in the winter! Shocker!

Finally Joe Zee sits down with Olivia and tells her how unprofessional she was and that he is the boss around here. He even admits he’s sick of her games and if she pulls another stunt, she’s gone!

Erin watches the footage from Olivia’s Elle.com video that as you can see did not make the cut.

Whitney asks for advice from Kelly and in true Cutrone fashion, she shouts “she is a bitch, she is professionally dangerous to you! Your not gonna be the blond girl from LA! You know where nice people end up? On wellfare!”

Olivia and Whitney meet up for a lunch at Fig and Olive, but they don’t seem to be eating anything normal. Eventually they ate…a plate of bitchy!

Surprisingly, Whitney went off on Olivia and called her childish, a bitch and unprofessional. Palermo was at a loss for words at the end just got up at left! Olivia got what she deserved.

Whitney Port is not the driving force behind her own clothing line (DUH) this according to the designer who claims she did most of the work to design Whitney Eve. According to a lawsuit filed Friday in L.A. County Superior Court, “Whitney Eve” is the work of designer Adrienne Baravetto.

I’m currently playing this on heavy repeat at the Fashion Indie offices. The spring 2010 video lookbook for Adidas Originals features a bunch of models videotaping each other while dancing to the perfect soundtrack. Agyness Deyn, Ana Ivanovic, Cassandra Steen, Hyori Lee, Whitney Port, Tallulah Morton, Ciara and Cheer Chen all get their groove on and even Mark “The Cobrasnake” makes appearance.  The looks are now available on line.

Whitney Eve, her own clothing line mentored by Kelly Cutrone, was showcased last night in Miami in a group show for GenArt’s Fresh Faces. A stronger collection then her previous, but still with little substance.

I always look forward to Ports 1961, the shapes of the garments are always intriguing, and front row is always gossip worthy. Like this afternoon, when I noticed that Whitney Port and her friend Roxy sat second row, while Olivia Polermo sat in front next to Elle Mag’s Joe Zee. Also in front row, veteran Lauren Ezersky, Mister Micky, Nitro:litious, and many others. There was also a moment of silence honoring Alexander McQueen before the show began.

The City star sat second row while rival Olivia Palmero sits front from with Joe Zee. Will Whitney’s star be fading in the upcoming season of the MTV hit? Coverage of Ports 1961′s amazing show coming soon.

Last night we partied hearty with the stars of The City, Elle Creative Director Joe Zee and everyone’s favorite New York City social, Tinsley Mortimer. Held at the GUESS by Marciano store in Soho the event was packed to the walls with a cache of Bravo and MTV reality stars. No Jersey Shorian’s, but give it a week and I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of the tanners at Fashion Week. Scary thought, but true.

Really psyched I got to meet Joe Zee. Major stalker of his tweets so it was definitely a cool opportunity.

“I put myself in a different sort of realm as them (Lauren C. and Heidi). Obviously, it’s scary. I think it’s really hard to break out right now since the fashion industry is struggling … You’re always worried about people not understanding your point of view, not being able to get it. But I think my biggest competition is myself.”

With the eco-friendly movement gaining more momentum, it was only a matter of time before our favorite reality stars marched right on with it. Whitney Port has become the newest member of eco-friendly cosmetic company, PlantLove. The City star has created a hot pink lipstick to be featured alongside various other products of the PlantLove line. Eve Pinky is set to hit Sephora stores next week! And just incase saving the planet wasn’t enough reason to buy the lipstick, here’s another: two dollars from each sale of Eve Pinky goes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

5. 6126 Leggings with lace inset- LL’s actually doing something not completely reckless! These are pretty cool, great if you’re sick of plain black or the leather look.

Some expeditions are so rare and fantastic that they merit a huge celebration forty years later—as was the case for last night’s Louis Vuitton party honoring Buzz Aldrin (above left) and the first successful voyage of man onto the moon. My own expedition—across the park to the Upper West Side to the Museum of Natural History—was decidedly less buzz-worthy, but I can almost guarantee my destination was more fashionable than Neil Armstrong’s forty years ago.

Because Louis Vuitton is one of the few luxury brands surviving—and thriving—during the recession, it is to be expected that they throw over-the-top, lavish parties that compete with the bacchanals of ancient Rome—after all, who’s left to do it?

I arrived early and the atmosphere outside was unexpectedly calm—no ravenous party crashers frothing at the mouth for their free Moët. Usually I walk the step-and-repeats, but I took one look at the gigantic carpet with a cluster of video crews at the end and decided to pass. I imagined later that it would have been one small step for me, and one giant rattling of my fragile nerves.

Downstairs was still mostly empty and so the full selection of hors d’oeuvres could be enjoyed without the terrible despair that ensues after you trail one of those handsome cater waiters, only to find that their silver platter has been pillaged. Food, however, lost all value when I spotted Bill Cunningham in his signature blue windbreaker, darting rapidly around the room with his camera like a lone ranger. I positioned myself strategically and waited. Sure enough, my outfit was blessed with Mr. Cunningham’s approval in the form of a few camera flashes and I quietly checked off another achieved goal on the running list I keep in my mind.

The first celebrity I spotted was Cassie—immediately recognizable by her half-shaved head, which on one side makes her look like a glamorous goddess and on the other, like a Thai lady-boy. I assumed from the star shape etched into Cassie’s bald side that she was she was celebrating the celestial occasion in her own special way.

Shortly after, Whitney Port arrived. Almost immediately, a steady stream of strangers approached Whitney—all wanting a piece of the reality star. I was guilty of this as well—but at least I was fabulously dressed, so it was excusable in my mind. I went up to the delightful Ms. Port, who’s bubbly and beautiful in person. I asked if she ever had dreams of being an astronaut while growing up.

“You know, I think everyone somehow thinks in one way or another that being an astronaut is so whimsical and amazing, but I don’t know, after fourth grade, learning about the whole solar system and doing a report on Venus, I was fine just settling with that.”

I couldn’t bait her on what she’d do if she were locked in a space shuttle with her City

co-star, Olivia Palermo. “I’d make it work,” she said. “I’m not like that; I’m not territorial.”

The most interesting interaction that night I had observed was not Buzz with the president of Louis Vuitton North America on the grand staircase, but rather between Whitney and Jessica Szhor (Gossip Girl) when the latter had arrived. Despite having ostensibly never met before, Jessica made her way over to Whitney and introduced herself. It made me wonder whether the famous share some sort of supernatural bond with one another.

Jessica was wearing Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 shoes—the ones with the sky-high crazy heel that looks like an hourglass—and that, come to think of it, wouldn’t look out of place as moon shoes. I posed the same question to her.

“I think I was always a little bit too scared of what would happen, but I think it would be amazing to go to the moon and that’s the one place I’d want to go to that’s crazy and far away because people have made it back.”

“If you could go to the moon, who would you take with you?” I asked her. “My mamacita!” she cooed.

Like, I get them. I still think they look like the jeans I wear to garden in, and that — at best — they’re really too casual for anything other than daytime running around town, but I GET IT. We’re all wearing our fat jeans out and about right now and that’s okay. It’s temporary. In fact, my theory is that this is a natural next step from how we all started wearing big floaty tops and dresses a few years ago and haven’t entirely stopped: it’s because we all realized that wearing something that didn’t require sucking in our stomachs constantly was DELIGHTFUL. I guarantee, in fact, that I am going to get a pair very much like these at some point — because I am sadly prone to following jeans trends, with the exception of the high-waisted, because I am not totally out of my mind — and that there will then be a point where I am wearing them and I catch sight of myself in a mirror out at the market or whatever and I think to myself, “JESUS CHRIST THESE JEANS ADD TEN POUNDS TO ME WHAT AM I DOING?” but then I’ll be out and about and stuck in them for at least the next hour and then we’ll all be filled with pants-related-regret. I’ll let you know when that happens. But this is not about her jeans, contrary to what you might have anticipated after reading all that. It is not about her matchy-matchy black-and-white color scheme. It is about her freaking headband. It looks like a spitball on her head.  Stop the headband madness, girls. None of us are Blair Waldorf.

If your used to watching Whitney Port on The Hills or The City, this is sure to give you quite laugh. Whitney told all of her fans on her blog that she was an avid little-league player in her childhood years; those years before she got hold of a stylist of course! You’d never guess that she’d be involved in fashion from her before picture, she’s hardly even recognizable!

Giving us a sneak peak at her Fall ’09 collection, Whitney Port was sure to create something versatile and stylish. The Fall ’09 line is a compilation of skirts, shirts, dresses and more, all for the elegant woman. The pieces focus more on blacks and whites; however, there are some strong infusions of color such as bright pinks, which are added to the mix.

It looks like Whitney Port is packing up her bikini and taking to the streets of New York with her new spinoff of The Hills produced by MTV. The City, despite the fact that it is a spinoff, looks pretty serious to me. Crying models, backstabbing boyfriends, jealous acquaintances and workplace scandals are just some of the things the teaser shows will go down in the Big Apple. NY Mag made a pretty solid prediction as to what is going to happen by the looks of the trailer. If they are correct, it looks like I can graduate from the overdramatic Gossip Girl and start laughing my butt off at the ridiculous drama and seditious characters of The City…as long as Lauren Conrad’s ugly dresses aren’t worn on screen…

We don’t have an exact date for the premier of this show, but MTV claims The City will air sometime in the spring. In the meantime, I would love to see Comedy Central do a spinoff of their own called The Mountains: Spencer dies in a freak snowmobile accident, leaving Heidi stranded alone in a desolate log cabin without internet for online shopping. Whitney begins designing winter coats but Lauren refuses to do her PR work because she is too busy designing hideous dresses of her own. Audrina quits work at Epic Records and begins work as a zamboni driver at the local ice-skating rink, leaving her too poor to afford rent with Lauren. Then all the girls go on an epic journey to rescue Heidi but are killed in an avalanche. Now Heidi must fend for herself until the Teen Vogue comes to the rescue! Can she do it? Stay tuned.

Shooting The Hills spinoff entitled The City, Whitney Port, former employee of Kelly Cutrone has transfered under the wing of Diane Von Furstenberg. Though we knew Cutrone wouldn’t be on The City, not many people could come to an answer when propositioned with why. Speaking of the situation, Kelly says

“When I thought about The Hills, when Lisa Love called me at Vogue and when I talked to them, I thought, There has to be a reason why Anna [Wintour]‘s doing this. You know? I feel like I maximized that.”

In true diva character, Kelly went on to conclude:

“I also didn’t really feel like it was a great idea to be on a spinoff of a spinoff of a spinoff. I felt like I already rolled the dice.l

Though Cutrone certainly doesnt want to be on a spinoff, if she were to do a show again, she’s sure she wants to own part of it. Control, control, control; she just can’t get enough! The gal has managed to scoop up some advice and best wishes for Diane.

“Your whole Internet system — whenever MTV comes around — is going to go down. So the cameras blow out the Internet system. I told her I thought it would be a fantastic thing for her business.”

It’s mid October and your homecoming dance is quickly approaching. Your friends include your pet hamster Squeaky and the lunch lady who serves you poorly prepared Sloppy Joes. Your ex-boyfriend dumped you so he could spend more time reading Anime and trading Pokemon cards. So, you want to start all over? Make a good impression? Well, wearing one of Lauren Conrad‘s dresses to your homecoming dance is certainly not the way to do it.

Come on Lauren, you grew up in Beverly Hills for Christ sake and you work for Teen Vogue! Haven’t the playground of the rich, famous and fabulous and the fashion industry taught you anything? No girl wants to be caught dead dancing in a hunter green ruched halter dress! And to make matters worse, all of these designs have been done before- the strapless tuxedo look, the single shoulder bow, the Greek inspired draping. It looks like you and Whitney Port could use a collection makeover…and how!

And please, save teenage girls the humiliation and NEVER start a prom dress collection.

If you grew up with Rodeo Drive in your backyard, interned two summers at Womenswear Daily and currently hold the position as fashion contributor at Teen Vogue, we would certainly hope that you have at least an ounce of style. Well Whitney Port, you might be “The Hills” glamour Barbie, but your clothing line is anything but glamourous and falls miles short of being impressive. 

Port’s new cocktail and nightwear clothing line, Eve & A, was recently picked up by Kitson Boutique. But I guess I’m not the only one vomiting over Port’s poorly executed ruffle-neck dress or her hideously constructed, costume-like sequin dress. Port’s line is listed as Whitney Eve on the Kitson website…that isn’t even the name of her clothing line! Maybe Kitson is so embarrassed of their agreement to sell Port’s line that they changed the name so people couldn’t find it! 

And just look at those gnarly prices! Who in their right mind, especially with the current economic situation, would drop $400-$500 for such crap? I suggest you take that money and invest in some Campbell’s Soup stock.. Honestly, what is going to make you feel safer? A delicious homemade bowl of chicken noodle soup or knowing that one of those monstrous garments could potentially attack you in your sleep?
