Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 opens this Thursday/Friday at the stroke of midnight, and we have our tickets ready to go. Though devastated to see the seven-part series coming to an end, we know there is one good thing to come out of the emotional rubble – we can see our favorite actors from the films spread their wings and move onto other projects. London’s prodigy designer, William Tempest, has me on structure overload with his meticulously constructed Fall 2009 collection. Having worked closely with Giles Deacon, Jean Charles de Castelbajac and Diesel, there is no questioning where the man gets his skill from. Utilizing several earthly elements inspired patterns, there is no doubt that Tempest’s Fall 2009 collection has a subdued version of earth,wind and fire on the brain. Unlike many designers, who’s work tends to be reworked before hitting the market, Tempest’s exact items are now available for purchase on Browns London!

William Tempest debuted his collection about a year ago and he’s since evolved into one of London’s most sought-after new talents. Tempest’s work is theatrical and intricate, but with an elegant polish that isn’t seen in many designers at his level. Although he cited 1940s film noir as his first collection’s inspiration, the end result paid just as much homage to The Matrix as The Maltese Falcon. A classic corset-style strapless dress cascades into a froth of unevenly draped hems, a puff-sleeved blouse is cinched with yards of flowing white ribbons, and a black patent trench with sculptural lapels looks like something straight out of the Aeon Flux wardrobe closet.
