Yoko Devereaux is bringing in the Spring with a collection that will fit in well with just about anything. With a handful of timesless pieces, the collection is a solid mix of short shorts and lightweight outerwear. The collection is great for getting that piece that you’ll have for years.

The new collection from Yoko Devereaux is hitting stores now, and the collection is a bit on the plain side. The one thing that I will say about Yoko Devereaux is that all his pieces are well made, but they seem to be a bit boring of late. With the economy the way it is, I don’t know how long I see Yoko sticking around for. With a high price and a collection that can be replaced with certain H&M pieces Yoko might not make it through the tough times (although I hope they do!).

Supermarket HQ is a more polished, Etsy-esque site for independent artists/designers/craftsters all over the world.

Like Etsy, the site hosts handmade books, toys, and clothing.  But among the no-name sellers, I spotted some pieces from Yoko Devereaux and a lot of cool jewelry (above).  I’m going to look up about a hundred designers now.

The good folks over at WeAreTheMarket.com have been revving  up for Capsule, their twice yearly trade show for young menswear designers.

They took a few minutes to review some new tees and inspirations from Yoko Devereaux.

Among the diverse sources of inspiration that will debut at the Capsule Paris show, look for “the Hamptons meets early 90’s downtown grunge” – you’ll know it’s the Spring/Summer 2009 collection of Yoko Devereaux. Imagine how a “renegade” Kennedy grandchild might style early Marc Jacobs – sleeveless, oversized cardigans, rounded collars, bow ties, rain coats, cuffed shorts and drop-pocketed jeans.

We’re psyched about Yoko’s inspiration. Are you?

The Brookyn-based artist has taken a new approach to Warhol’s idea of consumerism in a new exhibition. Using the iconic and omnipresent Louis Vuitton logo as his background combined with the everyday names of Brillo, Heinz, and Kellogg, Lutz references consumerism at every level.

The sculpture itself is slightly over five feet tall and is literally a monument to this ongoing concept of consumerism. There will be seven of these monuments as well as one artist proof, and each becomes even more unique than the next with its own color scheme and monogramming.

I wonder if Louis Vuitton will be comfortable with the use of their logo in this exhibition?
