Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel Wonder Cutely “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?”

Edited by

Usually anything this sickeningly precious makes me want to turn violent, but my love for Joseph Gordon-Levitt knows no bounds and I’ve grown to appreciate Zooey Deschanel as well as her new sitcom, New Girl. The two adorable actors knew each other some eight years before teaming up for (500) Days of Summer (sidebar: totes one of the best post-millennial romantic comedies, by the bye) and they’ve hooked up again to bring us this nifty rendition of  a Nancy Wilson classic, “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” Try not to smile from all the gosh darn cuteness. Go head, I dare you.

The 69th Annual Golden Globes Nominations Also in Love with Ryan Gosling

Edited by

It’s been one hell of a year for a certain occasionally-bearded, dog-loving thespian cum hunk cum meme. While some — read: everyone — feel  he was unjustly robbed of another award earlier this year, Ryan Gosling is getting a double dose of appreciation from the 69th annual Golden Globe Awards. He’s pulled quite the hat-trick, getting nominated twice this year for Best Actor in a Comedy and Drama. Bradley Cooper was, to the surprise of everyone — read: no one — was not nominated for Limitless

Parisian Chic: Get The Look!

Edited by

What is it about the Parisian girl that seems so chic and modern? Maybe it’s her way of playing it simple yet sophisticated. This style is great for the working girl or the girl on the go that doesn’t have time to search through her endless patterned dresses trying to accessories them, only to discover the look is “too much”. When dressing the Parisian style less is always more. Take it from our favorite fashion icon Audrey Hepburn in the 1957 movie Funny Face. With her sleek, fitted, black beatnik top and her black Capri pants, she’s somehow been able to grace the ads of GAP in that ensemble 40 years later!

Keep an eye out for these independent ladies in style to stay inspired by their modern Parisian looks: Actress and singer/songwriter Charlotte Gainsbourg. French, fashion bloggers and designers Betty from Blog De Betty and Alix The Cherry Blossom Girl. Also UK journalist Alexa Chung is one to follow with her new fashion line being heavily influenced by horizontal stripes, blazers and sweaters.

To get the look, keep your color pallet very simple. Black, white, neutral tones and gray. Must haves are a stripped pattern, nautical tee, a dark colored blazer, fitted, cotton pant or jeans and if you’re really serious about it, a gorgeous trench coat. Dressing up requires the most famous “little black dress” and add some flirty-ness to it with a bow in the hair like Zooey deschanel. Keep the hair and make-up natural and don’t be late for your date at La boutique de Cafe.

Zooey Deschanel is Ada Lovelace

Zooey Deschanel is Ada Lovelace

Our old girlfriend is going to play the world’s first computer programmer, Ada Lovelace.

Ada Lovelace is another groundbreaking woman whose work contributed to something you and I use every single day — the personal computer. Lovelace, a countess whose father was Lord Byron, was a math whiz who was the first person to create a program for Charles Babbage’s designs for analytical engines, a very early computer.
