The Pipeline: Little Rings That (Literally) Leave a Big ImpressionSometimes we all need a good cry. So put on some waterproof mascara and take a look at these rings. Like something out of a deliciously bad Nicholas Sparks novel, they’re inspired by a song written by a Korean singer about a sunburn mark he noticed after he broke up with his girlfriend and removed the ring he’d worn during their relationship. Excuse us while we well up. Artist Jungyun Yoon was similarly moved and created rings that captured the song. They come in sterling silver or 14k gold and have “secret” messages on the inside that leave an impression on the wearer’s finger. Examples include “Marry Me,” or “Always,” but they can be inscribed to say whatever you’d like. We know the sap factor is huge, but like long-stem roses or The Notebook, you know you secretly love it, so, as Beyonce would say, put a ring on it.
