BASH: Jezebel Takes On The Idea Of Death In Fashion. I Consider Suicide Just Listening To Them

Jezebel seems to be stirring the fashion pot once again, as they took a second out of their day to voice their dislike for the idea of death in fashion. Really? You don’t have anything better to do than comment on how people choose to depict their brand/products? I’m not one to get to openly upset by something on the site, but this really kind of pisses me off.

I can understand bringing up the idea of models being too skinny, or some form of racism if fashion spreads, but you’re really going to pick morbid images as your next target? “These ads for the New Zealand boutique Superette are only the tip of the violence-glamorizing iceberg.” is a direct quote used directly by Jenna, the author of the article. “Violence-glamorizing?” Are you serious? For the longest time in art, novels, films, poetry death has been described as one of the most beautiful moments in the human life cycle, and while these images may be a bit darker in connotation, there is a still a significant amount of beauty in the shots.

If you ask me this is just another sign of this over nurtured world stripping the beauty out of something for the sake of “protecting their kids”. Meanwhile little Timmy’s in the back shed gnawing on his grandma’s prescription pills and knocking up his neighbor. People just get too offended way too easily these days. Take it for what it’s intended to be people, art!
