Well, I live in Los Angeles, and my word, everywhere I go, i see the typical “indie” girls and guys, that they just get under my skin. “What do they look like and where can I find them?” you may ask, well, let me tell you!
These “typical indie” people are those who listen to “indie” bands that have been famous for a while, but they claim to have discovered them ages before (example-vampire weekend, rilo kiley, etc.) They tend to smoke and think they’re cooler than everyone else. You can find them shopping at Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, and all of those chain of stores.
Now, to spot them. Girls wear those damn headbands. Look, dont get me wrong, some do pull it off. But about 98% of them dont. The hair bunches up at the end and aghhh! They wear flannel shirts as dresses with some lame disco ball tights. Expect gladiator sandals with a “kooks” fedora or some ugly ass pocahantas looking mocassins. Some might have the pixie cut, others might have ridiculously long blonde hair. Also, BANGS. Again, dont get me wrong, i love bangs, just look at daisy lowe. But its just, these specific girls that annoy the living flesh. Other might wear jumpsuits or such. Although i do claim they annoy me, I always end up laughing. I’m not banning these fashion items I’ve mentioned (well, the disco ball tights, yes, i do reject those) I personally like them, just, seperately. On a side note, very, and i stress VERY, very little girlies pull off this look. But, i still find myself not liking it. If you look good in it, by all means, go for it! But, you know who you are if it looks bad! youuu knooooww who youu are!
As for the guys, that another story. But yes, im done with my little rant. ahaha.
