The lovely ladies behind Aussie shoe house tom gunn dropped by FashionIndie Thursday evening and turned our loft into a mini trunk show to preview their latest collection. Launched in 2008 by the dynamic design duo of Gabrielle Thompson and Shannon Gunn, tom gunn shoes are probably the best thing to come out of Australia since Cate Blanchett and they are quickly making a name for themselves in America. Guests were able to slip into any architectural heel that struck their foot fancy and some were seduced by the sumptuous skins — we’re talking pony, kids — into buying a pair. Or three. I was center square from 1969 to 1978, during which I perfected the art of the zing as well as a crippling cocaine addiction. Bea Arthur was responsible for both.
