I think the hips look weird cuz he's in motion (walking), I don't think it's the jeans. But as with all trends, you have to find the right fit for your body, so if it has to be a bit longer or a bit less baggy it will still work!

Thanks for the comments guys!

I think it's terrible. It looks like the pants are pleated and give the dude some funky hips.
I also think that the pant's will make his ass look rediculas.
I wonder what a more flaired out leg would look like...

p.s.

Dont be afraid to let the backs hit the ground a little to, it adds character to the pants.

I think if yiou drop the fold on the bottom one more to cover your shoe a little more you got it. I used to wear baggy jeans just like that only a little lower and gots lots of compliments. Just drop them a little more, maybe wear them a little lower on the waist, not thug low just lower then you have them. You dont want to look like youre waiting for a flood kinda like they look in this picture. You can pull it off though. ~E

yeah, i personally luv baggy jeans 'n cargoes. i wear'em all the time. i skateboard and also go clubbing and dance to funky house and liquid drum 'n bass alot so the baggy pants really help alot with skate and dance moves. and i like the slim blazer with the baggy jeans juxtaposition. sometimes i'll wear either a one size too small or 2 sizes too big tee with the baggy pants. both work equally well.

an added side benefit to wearing baggy pants, especially cargoes with the extra pockets, skating or clubbing is that i no longer have to carry a backpack around. everything fits in my pockets, carrying my stuff around doesn't restrict movement and i don't have to worry about someone jackin' my backpack. it a real win-win.
