TrendSpark: Blonde and Blonder

A couple of weeks ago we featured an article on the blonde hair trend that was hitting indies in London and Williamsburg. Apparently, we were ahead of the trend (score!) and now it seems that the hair trend is taking off with more and more celebrities dying their hair and trading in dark locks for platinum looks. Here’s a list of all the celebs that have recently jumped on the trend. We love the look but be sure to check out our tips on the process, the last thing you want to do is look like silver-haired idiot. We also scored the looks below to choose the best new blondie. (Side thought, what is Debbie Harry doing lately and why hasn’t anyone optioned a Blondie movie yet?)

Rachel Bilson: We know it’s a wig for her new movie with Hayden Christenson, Jumper 2 New York, I Love You, but we can’t get over how much she looks like Kate Bosworth (aka a blonde ano bobblehead). It’s freaky. Final Score: 6

Lily Allen: I would support this if only it wasn’t so Joss Stonish of her to do. Recap for those who missed it. Joss used to be a really good British singer who no one listened to. In order to get some press she hit up Marc Jacobs runway show with a head of hair that was best described as “what a used tampon looks like”. She then completely disappeared from the world never to be heard of again, though some her red tresses can be seen outside of Virgin Records when the moon is full. Final Score: 5

Lindsay Lohan: Samantha Ronson’s boytoy/”only relevant claim to fame” has dyed her hair blonde, again. Seriously, I hate writing about Lindsay so hopefully this is the last time she does anything that matters to me. (With the exception of making a good movie. If she does that I will give her props and might talk about her again, since by now she’s so irrelevant in Hollywood that it might be considered indie, or if she is actually gay, cause that would be so freaking awesome for Lezies everywhere and give Porcia a break as the Hottest Lipstick in Hollywood.) R.Kelly: Yeah, he’s blonde. Of course he looks like a total idiot. I really can’t even describe how stupid it looks so stare at the picture above, find some great ways to make fun of it in your head, and then laugh out loud. I know I have. Final Score: 0
